Nando's Birmingham - Star City — Restaurant in Birmingham

Came to this Nando’s as I usually do not have a bad experience but this was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had and will never be returning!

On arrival, there was no mention that sunset or fino pittas or butterfly chicken was not available. When it came to ordering - that’s when we were told … but we decided to order anyway as it was late of the evening and didn’t have time to travel to another Nando’s.

When ordering - I always opt for bottled water- but to no surprise they had none available. I ordered 2 bottomless and I also suggested I would be happy to have my own bottled water but if I could be provided with a glass- I was given a glass small enough for my toddler to drink probably 2 sips out of. I asked for a taller glass but Nando’s assistant couldn’t trust one of their loyal customer on not helping myself to their bottomless drinks despite me telling the assistant I am more than happy for him to watch me drink my bottled water and that I have no interest in their fizzy drinks. Once I spoke to a manager he KINDLY authorised the use of a taller glass. I then presented my NHS ID which was also refused - I am a staff nurse working for an NHS trust but had they cared to look at my ID badge properly they would see NHS written in the corner. At this point I was extremely annoyed and wanted to walk out but I had two hungry relatives and did not want to spoil their meal.

My meal arrived. I’ve had better at this and other Nando’s but I’d say my experience today was the worst I’ve ever had. My cousins chicken was drier than the Sahara desert and the overall experience just ruined the atmosphere.

The waiter who originally served me had later approached me to apologise for not providing me with a suitable glass to drink my water out of. I did not find this satisfactory at this point.

My family & I absolutely LOVE going to Nando's. The atmosphere is great and most are the staff are quite nice. The food is exceptional and always delivered on time. The waiting time outside would take long as it's a world-famous restaurant known for it's flavoursome chickens but I need to say that if you're going to go there for a family members birthday or going out with your friends, Nando's is the place to be. Don't complain on the waiting time to get a table; it might OBVIOUSLY be busy as it's a great and famous restaurant, but just heed that the staff work very hard to get the food cooked and make sure everybody is inside the amazing restaurant before closing time. I must say that at the times I've been to the restaurant with my family and sometimes some of my friends, the food is delivered in a matter of time, and I can't even go into words of the amount of succulence the food contains. It's mighty delicious and I can guarantee you will love it with all your very might. The good things about Nando's are: *Nando's Chicken is all halal *Food there is suitable for vegetarians and have vegetarian meals on the menu *A wide variety of sauces and drinks *Delicious after-meal desserts to eat *They have Nando's cards and a system which counts a Nando's currency called "Chillies" for every meal you have at the restaurant, if you get up to 10 chillies, I think it was that you'd get a free whole chicken.

Overall, the system, food, staff, atmosphere, waiting time (food and outside) is great. I so recommend you go to Nando's, you won't regret it, and after one taste of the juicy, succulent, flavoursome food hits the tip of your lips, you'd fall in love with happiness on your mind after eating the food.

Not as good as they used to be...

We visit this branch of Nando's and some other branches on regular basis.

I remember some staff in this branch like Terry, Kabir, Kaiser, Goerge or Ovi back from 2010-2011ish when they had super customer service.😌

That time they would have gone far beyond and above to make sure customers are happy.😌

Food would have come on time and piping hot with the right level of spice and well cooked.😌

Restaurants floor and seat and tables would have been cleaned quickly.

And best of all they would have done all this with a smile on their face and with real happiness.😌😌😌

And now?

You go there judge yourself for my words, they almost forgot how to smile anymore if not, even miserable most of the time.!🙄

I never had my food been served on time within the last few years in this branch, and following to that either chicken or rice would come cold or maybe the chicken was not cooked properly.!🙄

We even found hair in the rice, a toothpick in the sauce bottle.!😣

I mean seriously...!😣

I don't understand why and how a huge company line Nando's would change their level of service this way!🤐

Just because they earning money like raining on them that they don't care anymore?

What a shame attitude now that they make you feel if you like it to come, pay to eat and just leave

Or

If you don't like just don't come to us, simple as that.

I still think and can't believe myself how could possibly a companies level of service could drain this much?

Anyway, I still go there most of my frequent visit to the Starcity with my family with a hope that I will see they gained they're glorious service and quality but unfortunately come back most of the time...
