A lovely restaurant with traditional regional food, Old Damascus does not fail to deliver.
I have ordered from this restaurant on several occassions, and have recently visited in store, and have made several observations.
They accept card and have indoor seating.
An open kitchen, O.D cooks everything infront of you, and you can see how everything is clean and well made with care.
Service, upon entering, I was instantly greeted.
Order, I made several requests, which were all expertly catered to, such as customisation of my order (specific salads), I asked to pay upfront and was allowed to do so and I was given a wide choice of drinks.
Upon making my order I was shown to my seat and had my order taken to me, it was not the fastest service of food, but this is not quick to cook food, and it is all made fresh, so the time was adequate and very pleasant.
After I had finished eating, I was told that I could leave my plate and it would be cleared for me.
I ordered a chicken shawarma meal, it was very hot, juicy and delicious well cooked chicken, the wrap was crunchy and stretch, simply beautiful.
The chips could have been slightly better, but that is personal opinion, they were also very nice.
The sauces here are gorgeous.
Lovely hardworking staff that deserve full respect for their craft and dedication for delivering good service and food.
Attentive staff, good food and pleasant atmosphere, this restaurant is...
Read moreWill not be going back. I'll explain exactly why. Firstly the positives - The food was good. Overpriced for what it is but it's good. That's all the only positive.
This is my second time here - the first time was quite good but this time it was a load of **.
Negatives - I ordered my food and was told to wait for 10 minutes. So I sat down and waited. Two people came and ordered after me and both were served before me. After the last person received I could hear my fries finally being put in the fryer. After 25 minutes of waiting I was finally given my food.
There was 100% a racial and/or a gender bias as I wasn't middle Eastern or a female like the two customers after me and I definitely felt as though there was a prejudiced because of it.
They're really overpriced compared to other restaurants and I do not know why. Not worth the hassle in my opinion. Yes the food is good but the price is way overboard.
I will never be going back and if anyone wants a recommendation - I'll tell them not to go and take their business elsewhere.
Absolutely scummy behaviour. You should be ashamed. Playing the Qur'an but having racial/gender bias and tendencies. It's a joke and a mockery. Fix up...

Ordered: a mixed grill with rice and salad, a batata haara and a large fries.
Delivery was on time and the food was packaged really well.
I'll get the main negative out the way first - the fries were slightly undercooked and I instantly regretted ordering a 'large'. Fries get a 3/10
The beef kebab was grilled to perfection juicy, tasty, succulent and a decent size - a delight to eat. 9/10
The chicken kebab was also grilled perfectly and was equally as enjoyable as the abovementioned. Splendid in taste and extremely juicy 😋 9/10
The chicken tikka was a delight. The peices were tender and cooked perfectly 9/10
The rice was tasty but disappointingly greasy 5/10
The salad was fresh n crispy and made the rice consumption somewhat easier 8/10
The batata haara was very tasty but slightly overcooked and again, very very greasy 6/10
Overall it was a tasty meal and despite the negatives, the food sheikh would order from this establishment again.
The food sheikh recommends this joint!
