🌟 5-Star Review for The Peg and Grill – A Vegetarian Dream Come True! 🌟

If you’re a vegetarian who’s ever felt like an afterthought when dining out (as there’s usually hardly any options for us), then The Peg and Grill is about to become your new favourite spot!!!!

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with beautiful warm, friendly service by Sudeep and his team, with a buzzing atmosphere that made the entire experience feel welcoming and relaxed.

What truly set The Peg and Grill apart from other mixys/restaurant is their entirely separate and thoughtfully curated vegetarian menu, it’s just a full-on celebration of plant-based flavour without feeling like you’re missing out when you’re veggie.

We came specifically for the vegetarian mixed grill and to try some fab paneer (specifically shahi paneer- we all know it’s our fave being veggie 😋) and it absolutely exceeded every expectation I had!! 🥹🫶🏽

What impressed me the most was how The Peg and Grill clearly treats vegetarian cuisine with the same care and creativity as traditional grills. This wasn’t a “meatless compromise”, it was a full-on flavour experience. Absolutely exquisite!

Whether you’re vegetarian, vegan, a meat eater or just simply looking to try something new, The Peg and Grill honestly gives the feeling of gourmet grilling without the guilt!!! It’s bold, exciting, and refreshingly inclusive. I would 100% go again and I will be coming back!!!!

One last thing- the most special part of a meal for me personally is the hospitality and service. Having taught in hospitality previously, it was beyond my expectations to see Sudeep personally instill his accuracy to detail, pure passion and love for his customers into ensuring they leave the restaurant content and fully satisfied. We originally booked this place as it was close to the hotel I thought I had booked for a night away with my partner. Turns out I booked the wrong hotel so ended up walking 30 minutes to get to this place and we was not disappointed in the slightest. I rang to let them know we were running late due to the mix up, which they were fine about.

When we arrived, we were shown to a table but before we sat down, he offered us a table upstairs, which we accepted. The whole place had such a lovely atmosphere and the staff were so helpful and attentive to every person in both the restaurant and bar. The food was absolutely phenomenal, although we didn't realise the mixed grill came with the starters, so I had to wait a little while longer for my main to arrive, which wasn't too long. The flavours of all the meats and the curry was divine. There is also a huge selection of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.

We also found out the place had only been open 2 weeks, which we was so surprised about, but we was definitely not disappointed. I recently dined at Peg and Grill on 28th November 2024 and had an absolutely unacceptable experience. My party of 9 was seated at Table 19, and we placed our order at 19:45. However, the food didn't arrive until 21:45, resulting in a two-hour wait. The staff was inattentive and lacked communication regarding the delays.

Four of us received our starters, but the rest of us were left waiting. To make matters worse, one person's main dish was completely forgotten. When the food finally arrived, it was not piping hot and overall disappointing. Most of our group had to take the food away in bags since we had work the following morning and hadn't anticipated such an atrocious wait.

Given the significant amount of money we spent, the poor treatment we received was unacceptable. Despite my request for a full refund due to this experience, the management offered no immediate resolution and instead suggested a 25% discount for future visits. This is simply not good enough considering the inconvenience and disappointment we faced.

Peg and Grill needs to seriously improve their service and ensure such experiences are not repeated for other customers. I will not be returning and do not recommend this restaurant based on...
