The last experience at Del Villagio!!! 😞 Me and my partner have been eating at this restaurant regularly for the last 7 years. They used to have one of the best pizza in town, therefore, we returned many times after our first visit. Not long ago, we discovered that they started to deliver which we were very happy about as this meant we could eat our most loved pizza in the comfort of our home. First time we placed a delivery order was about a month ago. When we got the order, we had a “surprise”, the Quatro Formaggi pizza ( my favourite) ) looked shocking. All the ingredients have fallen on the cardboard, therefore, I did not eat the pizza and have been left with a bitter taste. Next day I went personally to the restaurant to explain the situation and I have been given the answer “it’s not our fault, it’s the delivery driver that probably did not transport the pizza in the right way”. I explained that I did not come to complain, I just wanted to make the restaurant aware about the experience in order for them to take the necesare action for this not to happen to myself or any other customers as it’s not the great experience we have been used to. Yesterday 19/02/24 we have ordered from Del Villagio again. After placing the order, I called the restaurant asking them to be careful while packing the order and to provide the driver the best instructions on how to transport the pizza. Shocking!!! When the delivery arrived, not only the Quatro Formaggi pizza was uneatable but also my partner’s pizza looked a mess and could not be eaten. To top this up, we ordered also a portion on fries and a tiramisu which were packed in the same bag one on top of the other ( fries being hot being placed above the tiramisu which was cold, made the tiramisu melt and become uneattable too…. As we were hungry and very frustrated, we decided to take all the items at the restaurant and discuss about this. All we wanted is to eat, we did not want a refund. At the restaurant we explained what happened (once again) and asked the manager to re-do our order. We have been told they are unable to do this as it is not their fault and we can only contact the delivery company if we want our money back. As much as we tried to explain that we don’t want the money back and we just want our two pizzas and our tiramisu, the manager kept insisting that if we want two pizzas, they can re-do one for free but the 2nd one we will need to pay. All I am saying, it is not about the money, it is about the principle and the customer service which was absolutely shocking. They did not care that we have been left without our food after we have paid over £40 plus we have walked to the restaurant to explain and show what happened. We left all the food on the bar and left but that was definitely the last time we will ever visit Del Villagio!!! Read moreAlthough not busy, the restaurant generated the typical noise one associates with Italian restaurants. An excellent menu offers a tempting array of various courses. I decided to pass starter and go straight for the whole grilled sea bass ‐ irresistible - served with saute potatoes.
It was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of rosemary and other spices to enhance the delicate taste of sea bass.
I followed this with another Italian delicacy - baked apple tartlet with apricot sauce served warm. Again, it's faultless.
Others in my party had basic pizzas which they enjoyed and left little room for dessert. One was tempted by profiteroles, which on being served broke the dietary resistance of another family member who also ordered the same. Conclusion: excellent!
The staff were very friendly and open to the casual banter that makes informal dining so much more enjoyable.
The restaurant is spacious, clean, and nicely decorated.
It is a restaurant in which you can have a good meal for a reasonable amount but it also offers dishes that are more expensive for those wanting a more special occasion.
I will definitely use this restaurant again for business or personal use in the future and will have no hesitation in recommending...

I ordered lamb shank and mash. It was served and the shank was stone cold. The gravy was luke warm which made me check the meat immediately Clearly the shank had been defrosted and not heated. As we were dining with children who had started eating we couldn't leave. I called to say it was cold and manager came to the table. Asked if I wanted something else but that was all. Not another word. No apology. Nothing. She then had the cheek to return five mins later to the other end of the table and ask if the food was OK! The young waitress serving us was v good and apologised about my food when bringing the bill. She asked if I wanted to say anything and I said I would be complaining. She offered to get me an email address, which the manager returned to the table with. Again no apology. In addition there is clearly an issue there as the other gluten free guest is now suffering...
