It was my first time watching orchestra which I thought I might like it and develop some interest however I am very disappointed being charged different which is not my mistake my only mistake is going to symphony to watch it. While knowing I was charged more than what I supposed to pay I was occupied with going to reception agin all my show and wasted my all experience to watch my first time orchestra performance in a non peaceful thought, thinking that at lest they would refund the remaining by mailing it seem for them it’s nothing but for me it 2 hour worth of work. And I would never ever ever come back to symphony and would encourage people do not book ticket in box office they are not willing to give you information when u r booking ticket it’s waste of having people working in box office ticket and not giving information. I will never step back what a good experience for first time.
Dear [Box Office Team/Event Organizers],
I hope this message finds you well. I attended the CBSO 2024/25: KAZUKI CONDUCTS HAYDN'S CREATION at the Symphony Hall, Birmingham on Wednesday 26 February 2025, 19:30 , and I was charged £28 for my ticket. However, I later realized that the price for attendees aged 20-30 is £10, which I qualify for as I am 26 years old.
When I went to the box office at the reception, I was asked to pay the standard price without being informed of the age-based pricing options. Unfortunately, once I was seated, I noticed my ticket was at the £10 price point, but I didn’t want to disturb my fellow attendees by asking to stand when there were seated during the performance for me to go outside as the leg room is pretty tight. During the break, I went back to the reception to inquire about the price difference, only to find that the box office closed at 8 pm.
As the event was still ongoing, I was unable to resolve this in person, and I wanted to respectfully request a refund for the £18 difference in price, given the discrepancy.
I’ve attached my invoice and the pricing details from your website for reference.
I must also mention that I feel a bit disappointed by the lack of transparency at the point of sale, as I wasn’t informed about the different pricing based on age, which would have allowed me to make a more informed decision
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing back from you soon and hope we can resolve this promptly.
I got reply Hello,

Read moreDear ICC Symphony Hall Management,
I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding the behavior of one of your security personnel during my recent visit to the ICC Symphony Hall premises on 01 April.
At approximately 22:00, my friend and I were seated in a common area of the Symphony Hall, simply resting after a long day of work. As per the venue’s premises policy, there is no stated restriction on sitting in these areas unless it causes inconvenience to others, which was not the case. However, a security guard approached us and, without any courtesy or professionalism, told my friend that he could not sit and rest there.
What was most concerning was the way in which he addressed us. His tone was unnecessarily harsh, treating us in a demeaning and disrespectful manner, as if we were unwelcome or had ill intent. Instead of communicating with professionalism and respect, he acted as though we were trespassers or homeless individuals seeking refuge—an assumption that was both inappropriate and offensive. Being homeless is not a crime, but regardless of anyone’s situation, all individuals deserve to be spoken to with dignity.
This is not the first time we have experienced such treatment at your venue, and I cannot ignore the possibility that this security officer’s behavior was influenced by prejudice. In a public space like ICC Symphony Hall, where people from all backgrounds should feel welcome, such discriminatory and judgmental behavior is unacceptable.
I urge you to take this matter seriously and ensure that your security personnel are trained to handle situations with professionalism, respect, and courtesy. The role of security staff is to maintain safety, not to intimidate or mistreat individuals without cause. I would appreciate a response detailing what actions will be taken to address this issue and prevent similar incidents in the future.
Looking forward to your prompt response.
Best regards,
Dr...
Read moreExcellent night and world class performance. The review is for the symphony hall, not the acts that perform here.
The hall is easy to find and being close to Birmingham centre is surrounded with parking options. If you are commuting via train, Birmingham new street train station is a 5 minute walk away. It is also 100 yards away from the tram line, although never used this I do not know how the times marry up with start and finishes of the performances.
The lobby is well decorated inside with modern décor and was warm throughout. There are bars available on each floor serving a selection of alcoholic and soft drinks as well as light snacks. There is enough seating to allow around a 1/3 of the capacity to sit before any performance. Toilets are located throughout and even when using during the interval the quantity of facilities meant the line was very quick moving with little delay at all. The main area is grand with ornate décor and is well worth observing before or after the show. The seats were fairly comfortable and during the entire performance I never felt the need to adjust my position which is something I do regularly when attending the cinema. There was no where to put drinks down and the leg room was a little restrictive meaning holding any no sealable drinks until finished is the only option.
The only reason I wouldn't give this venue 5 stars is because of 2 reasons. Although there is a bar on each level, the division of staffing isn't well thought out and so depending which bar you go to you may stand in line for the entire interval in order to reach the front. It was raining lightly when we attended and during quieter parts of the performance the rain could be heard through the ceiling. This could perhaps use a thicker/denser...
