Positive points: Staff were friendly, games were fun Unfortunately there are far more negatives though ... Our first game was axe throwing. There are 2 lanes for this and we were directed to one by the entrance that already had people in it. Staff member on that lane said they were running late so we should come back in a bit. Walking away, we saw another axe throwing lane with no customers in .. asked the staff member if we could use that one and hey presto, we could. Why did neither the reception staff or the lady in the first axe lane not suggest this? Next up was Crazier Golf upstairs. Staff told us to pick a ball, either soft or hard, apparently it didn't matter which. Until you reach the 'hole' that tells you you need a soft ball (think mini basketball) so back to the reception hut to get soft ones. One hole missing despite us searching for it, no instructions on another (you need them for sure) and 2 others with broken parts. Last for us was Shuffle Board, luckily we knew how to play already so just got on with it. Overview - Music so loud you have to shout to each other to be heard, this is worse upstairs while playing golf. Staff are so used to it they talk at a normal level meaning our conversations consisted of us asking them to repeat everything a few times. Games are crammed in. There is literally no space to stand and watch or put your bags/umbrellas, especially upstairs where they presumably have removed one golf hole to install virtual darts. When people are playing darts, you can't get to one of the golf holes without asking them to move. Also, the beer pong game downstairs is so close to the axe throwing, we constantly had to stop as their ball came into our area. There was nowhere to sit as every table was reserved (Sat afternoon). We had some time between our games and couldn't sit down anywhere. If you are a wheelchair user, do not even attempt it.

So, for us, it's a one and done. The 2 worst things are the noise level of the music - there's just no need to have it so loud. And how they have crammed everything in to try and earn a little bit more money. It's detrimental to the experience for sure. Could be so...

Disappointing Bottomless Brunch Experience at Boom Battle Bar

I don’t usually leave reviews, but our recent bottomless brunch experience at Boom Battle Bar was unacceptable from start to finish.

From the moment we arrived, the waitress serving us had a serious attitude. She seemed visibly irritated throughout the service, barely acknowledged us, and made us feel like we were an inconvenience rather than paying customers. Things went from bad to worse in the last 20 minutes when she dropped drinks all over us, then stormed off and threw her iPad in frustration.

We raised this with the manager, only for the same waitress to come back over, give us a sarcastic apology and a dirty look. Completely unprofessional. We escalated this to a supervisor, who unfortunately turned out to be her friend. Instead of addressing the issue properly, she accused us of shouting — which was simply not true. No one at the table had even raised their voice.

Eventually, we spoke to the manager again, who thankfully took our complaint seriously and refunded our brunch. He apologised for the staff’s behaviour, which was appreciated, but honestly, there needs to be a serious look into the team and their training. If you can’t handle customer service without attitude and sarcasm, then maybe it’s not the right job.

To top it all off, the food was awful — three of us ended up throwing up after, and another person left with stomach cramps. That’s not just bad service — that’s a potential food safety issue.

Safe to say, I won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for...

Came here for the interactive darts & karaoke. The darts had two small lanes which is fine but if theres another large group in the other lane its abit of a tight squeeze! As for the darts themselves we were places in lane 2 and spent half of our time having to manually press the darts back into the space they hit as it wasnt picking them up on the screen. Not sure if its an old dart board if its a fault but having to waste 5 minutes each round trying to make sure we get our points was pretty frustrating!

As for karaoke, we were told there was a little delay which is fine! Got in there about 5 minutes later than we were meant to and we already had around 10/15 minutes taken off out karaoke time? No explanation as to why. As for the karaoke itself, there was a constant hight pitched screeching noise coming from the speakers which made it hard to hear the music / enjoy the music and the bass was far too loud to the point you could feel it in your chest! The idea is great but execution is awful unfortunately!

As for actual staff, the staff we in countered were all pleasant however they did all seem stressed/overworked and understaffed - out of the whole place we only saw 4 staff which is pretty poor for a Saturday night where its bound to get busy!

Overall experience 2/5 - too expensive for something that isn’t worth it! Could find better darts in a pub and karaoke...

I really wish I read the reviews before I booked. Booked for this weekend for Crazier golf and shuffle board, as per the reviews below, the golf course was broken. Bearing in mind it’s only a 9 hole course, one hole was “out of action” completely. (Course 3 day race) the others were just about useable. Course 2, there was a basketball shooting course, broken. Course 4, bicycle was broken to block the hold, course 6, hoop the ring onto pole, broken. Course 7, slingshot, broken, course 8, fooseball table, stuck and not working. Course 9, the conveyor belt to the hole in one, broken! It sure was the craziest golf, because it was crazy it was all broken!!!! Luckily we had shuffle board also booked, the table to keep track of score was also broken. The table space to get around to collect your shots was really inconsiderate, dangerous planks of wood to get around on the floor, back to back against another table, it was insane. Drinks were around normal rate for city centre, got a cocktail, not nice. The atmosphere was also dire, near empty for a clear sunday afternoon! No need to book in advance. I wouldn’t recommend going, as it’s out of town and out the way. There are definitely more activity locations a lot closer for the same price and 241 cocktails too. Overall We were to

Attended Boom Battle Bar for a 40th birthday for one hour of karaoke and a game of crazy golf. The karaoke started off good however the service was shocking when it came to bringing our drinks. We were told to press the button inside the room when we needed more drinks however we were waiting 20 minutes and still no staff member came, in the end we went to the bar ourselves and wasting karaoke time as you are only allowed 1 hour. We then were told to head upstairs for the golf, which the bar staff weren’t even aware was booked until we mentioned this to them, and go to the stand at the top of the stairs. None of the staff members came to us to explain the game and give us the clubs and balls so after 20 minutes of waiting, we had to find these ourselves and start the game. Most of the games were broken, there were open wires were hanging out of the machines, strip lights hanging off the side of tables and an awful smell of sewage throughout the building. The whole site is a safety hazard. This experience wouldn’t have been as bad if they were very busy, however this was a Sunday afternoon and we were the only group in there. Would not recommend to anyone and would give 0 stars if I could…..

This was my first time at Boom Battle Bar and I was really disappointed. Me and my friends arrived 10 minutes late (not disputing that the 10 mins were our fault) however when checking in the host said for us to get a drink at the bar there were 4 of us so this took about 15 minutes for us all to get a drink. We have gone upstairs and we are in quite a small space and it didn’t help a 20+ person hen do was next to us. Once we have filled out the name and photos we start to play one game, we then play a second and our time has run out. We were unaware that our time starts instantly at 6, we weren’t told this on the day. If we were told this on the day we wouldn’t have got a drink like the host suggested we do and just started playing so we would have only missed the 10 minutes at the start. We paid £36 to play 2 games, next time I want to go with darts it will be flight club not here.
