The service in this establishment is ATROCIOUS! Booked this restaurant to try out as it is fairly new, upon arrival we were greeted by a nice man who was initially showing us to our table, he was then interuppted by the rude man behind the bar to sit us somewhere else. We didn't pay much attention to this even though he was really rude about it. My partner has celiac disease, so he went up to the man behind the bar to ask what options are gluten free as on their website menu they claim a lot of food is gluten free. The man behind the bar was completely unprofessional and condescending and asked my partner "how can these dishes be gluten free? If you can make it, show me" Firstly if it's listed on your website that items on the menu is gluten free, the fault of the item containing gluten is your own. The man could have easily apologised for the confusion and explained the menu, however his lack of professionalism was demonstrated instead. We placed an order anyway as the other man who took our order seemed to be friendly, we placed the order. Literally within 2 minutes of placing the order, the man behind the bar inturuppted so rudely and uncessarily and began speaking arrogantly to my partner, whilst we were speaking to the friendly man who took our order. His tone and behaviour was disgusting. Not tolerating the disrespect we cancelled our order and left. The guy behind the bar started to apologise as we were on our way out of the door, however being rude and unprofessional on 4 seperate occasions before we recieved food or drinks was completely unacceptable. I cannot comment on the food as we did not have the opportunity to eat but the service was horrendous. There are much better restaurants around, that will give you a wholesome experience of good service and food. Do not sacrifice one for the other especially if you are spending your money to eat there. You won't miss out on much. We will...

A meal of exquisite quality, taste and generous portion. Malai’s has become one of our favourite Indian restaurants in recent months.

The service is excellent, and upon arrival we were attended to swiftly and sat down ( this is without a booking).

Menu’s were handed out and the food and drinks option are selective but variable in depth and flavours.

We opted for the obligatory poppadoms which were fresh, crispy and served with 3 tasteful chutneys.

For starters and mains we chose the following...

Seek Kebab Chicken Lollipop

Keema Peas Kadai Chicken Nagra Chicken Pilau Rice Plain Buttered Crispy Naan Garlic and Green Chillie Crispy Naan Cucumber Raita

We were rather hungry… the starters were delicious, delicately seasoned and spiced and set the tone for expectations for the main courses.

The main courses went beyond our expectations..with each dish having a mouth-watering individual defining taste with an explosion of flavours and unique spices tantalising your taste buds. The portions are generous. This for me defines what an indian restaurant must be all about.. Serving up traditional indian food of exquisite quality, taste, freshness and portions, with each dish having it's own unique taste… unlike other restaurants where the dishes tend to taste the same.

The stand out dishes was the keema peas and the naga chicken but in all there was nothing that we did not enjoy.

A special mention goes to Chetan and a young female waitress whose name we forget, both were very accommodating and attentive, and that added to the enjoyment of our meal.

To the Malai team.. The management, the chefs, the waiters/waitresses etc.. Keep doing what you're doing and change nothing… amazing food, service and ambience. We shall...

Malai is a culinary gem that has quickly become one of our most cherished dining experiences. From the moment we walked in, the warm, inviting ambiance and attentive staff made us feel right at home.

The menu at Malai is a celebration of vibrant flavors and exquisite presentation, but the starters are where the magic truly begins. The samosa chaat, onion bhaji, and lamb chops are nothing short of spectacular. Each dish is a harmonious blend of spices and textures that come together in a delightful symphony for the palate.

The samosa chaat is a perfect balance of crispiness and tangy, spicy goodness, while the onion bhaji is light, crispy, and utterly addictive. However, it’s the lamb chops that truly steal the show. Cooked to perfection, they are succulent, tender, and bursting with flavour.

Malai delivers an exceptional dining experience. The staff's attentiveness, combined with the incredible food, makes it a place we highly recommend. One suggestion, though: considering the outstanding service, a service charge should be included in the bill to ensure the hardworking staff are properly recognized. Whether you're a foodie or simply looking for a memorable meal, Malai is a destination that promises to delight and satisfy. Can’t...

Mixed review: My friend thoroughly enjoyed their Balti meal. However, I opted for the lamb Hyderabadi biryani, expecting an authentic experience akin to what I had in Hyderabad. Unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. The dish lacked the complexity and depth of flavour I anticipated, instead, being dominated by an overpowering single spice, resulting in a disappointing taste. I wont be rushing back. The nepalese lamb starter was quite nice, over all 6/10

It was the most delicious, flavoursome meal I've had in a long time. Service was absolutely superb, attentive, helpful, but not overpowering. Sheek kebab was so tasty. The Himalyan Chilli Chicken was to die for absolutely delicious. The lemon chilli rice was fabulous. Four of us had poppadoms, starter and main cours, 4 pints cobra, bottle of wine £150. Great value for the quality of food and service. Absolutely recommended
