Had a very strange situation last night at everards meadows pub where me my wife daughter and all my family love coming as we live very local and been waiting for a pub like this for along time where you have great beers and outside space so we’ve been coming ever since it opened most weekends. So last night me, my wife and daughter met some friends for drinks we sat outside it was very nice the night went very quick and all of a sudden the music stopped which they now have outside so looked at my watch and it was 10.45 even though the music was supposed to finish at 11 but that’s fine so our friends went to the bar to get another drink so we still sat there it got to about 10.55 the lights went out outside and we were then approached my one of the doormen / security men which they have now at weekends and all of a sudden said we are closed now you have to leave I then said what leave now he then replied yes you must leave now our friends were then coming back with some more drinks that they had just been served the doormen had then left and gone inside so we went inside as it was getting cool outside so we could finish our drinks so we sat down inside I would say there would of been about 25 people left then all of a sudden the doormen came to us again as well as to other people with cardboard coffee cups! saying we are closed can you put your drinks in the cups and leave i couldn’t believe what I was hearing so I then had a little chat with the doormen very nicely about the whole situation are you really saying that if you have just served us a drink at 10.55 then all of a sudden came to us with coffee cups expecting to us to put our drinks in and leave the pub absolutely madness never in my life and I am 58 so been to lots of pubs all over the uk and never experienced this he said just doing what been told to do I then said well you are allowed to stay for 15 to 20 mins after last orders and said can’t you just use the two words what we have lost in the world we live in common sense! everybody in the pub were chatting finished their drinks and gone for 11.20 when our uber came please please owners/managers of everards have a look at this stupid nonsense as me and my family love your pub and enjoy coming so much and will be coming again Thursday for a meal for my sons 30th again we love everything about your pub please don’t ruin it with stupid rules that are so easily solved and so unnecessary if you want everyone out your pub at 11 then make last orders 10.30 but probably won’t go down to well with customers again just little common...

Came for the first time today with family for lunch. We wanted to sit inside but there was only one table available which were the tall chairs which wasn’t suited for one person in our party due to disability, so we opted to then sit outside as it was a nice day. I understand it’s busy and we could have booked to guarantee space but feel like no accommodation was attempted given the circumstances. After seating ourselves outside we picked what we wanted and went from the bar, I had an idea from looking at the menu online too. There was a bit of a queue at the bar, and given how modern this place is, it would be great to see mobile ordering or table service as busier times you could be waiting a while to order (as others order drinks etc). I also dislike the fact you don’t take cash. Card only can speed things up but cash is still a payment type and is important to have and keep in this economy. What my main gripe is, I went to order gammon and eggs and because we were sitting outside I wasn’t allowed to order it? I was told this was because of cutlery used and I was perplexed by this. And given we couldn’t sit inside my hand was forced to order something else which wasn’t my first choice and there was no accommodation on this either, and after having food disorders in the past it was unwelcome news and really didn’t sit right. I also noticed there wasn’t any calorie information on the menu which I thought was required and also helpful? It wasn’t really made clear at all about a separate outside menu to inside menu and I’ve never been to a place that does this. Furthermore an item was missed off our order and never charged but staff swiftly rectified when brought to their attention and offered a discount as a way of apology. The help yourself cutlery outside wasn’t great as it was swarmed by flies and out to the elements which wasn’t the most hygienic or appealing. I will say of the food we ordered was expensive, but it was really good and couldn’t fault it. May consider coming back in the future but would love to see a better service ran and some...

An exceptional venue that stands out not only for its sensational craft beers but also its exquisite food. A visit to this establishment is a true feast for the senses. Both beer enthusiasts and culinary connoisseurs will find something to delight in here.

The atmosphere inside deserves special mention. It’s not just phenomenal; it imparts a unique character to the place. The stylish decor and attention to every detail make spending time here a genuine pleasure.

I cannot fail to mention the incredibly pleasant service that further elevates the quality of this venue. The staff is not only courteous but also knowledgeable, ready to answer any questions about the beer selection or dishes on the menu. Their dedication positively influences the entire experience.

One of the strong points is the option to sample beers before making a purchase. This choice allows guests to better acquaint themselves with the variety of beer offerings and tailor their selection to their own preferences. It’s truly an excellent initiative that adds an educational dimension to the visit.

It’s not just the beer that captivates in this place; the food also deserves recognition. The menu impresses not only with the variety of dishes but also with their quality. The chefs put their hearts into each prepared dish, resulting in a unique flavor and aesthetically pleasing presentation.

In summary, I can wholeheartedly recommend this venue to anyone seeking not only superb beer and exceptional food but also an unforgettable experience. It’s worth returning here because every visit can uncover new flavors and...

Visited for the first time and we booked online which was easy to do. Went for brunch and was hoping to go for a walk nearby then return for lunch and drinks. We cancelled our food booking at lunch as our breakfast food experience did not meet expectations. The decor is lovely, the staff were friendly and welcoming, the parking and access is great, they accept doggies which is fantastic and they have a lovely walk nearby, all perfect. We ordered the full English, pancakes and the avocado on toast. The full English was good, just not great and could have been hotter. The pancakes were bland and rubbery and we asked for bacon instead of compote (paid £2.50 extra) but the server put the bacon on the avocado and toast order. Not a problem as mistakes happen and server was polite and apologised but it was the fact that the bacon was cold and with that slightly uncooked stringey bacon fat. The Hambleton sour dough toast served with avocado was hard and very chewy and the cold avocado mush on top was not very appealing as watery and lacking avocado texture. The poached eggs (£2.50 extra) with the avocado were also cold. Not the food experience we were hoping for. Perhaps the kitchen was having a bad day as the place was packed and loads of people looked like they were having a great time and enjoying the food. Most of this place and all the friendly staff are gorgeous but for us our food experience could have been hotter, tastier and better quality for the money. We returned in the afternoon for drinks and had a great experience with lovely hot drinks and beer. Our poochie was also well cared for.

I was planning to give a five star review after eating our main meals here today which were perfectly cooked and truly delicious. The ambience is excellent and the service very good. However, we were very disappointed with the puddings. I ordered a chocolate cheesecake and my partner an apple crumble. They both came in glasses rather than on plates which makes them very difficult to eat. I couldn't break the biscuit base of my 'cheesecake' with my spoon as it was at the bottom of the glass underneath the 'cheesecake' part of the dish which tasted more like ice-cream. Therefore I could only consume it when I'd finished the topping. The 'apple crumble' was a similar concoction topped with spray cream. If you don't like spray cream then it's virtually impossible to eat the rest of the dish without spooning the cream into the table. I realise that the building used to be a brewery so serving desserts in a pint glass may be deemed to be quirky, but what next? Sunday roast in a pint glass?
