Came here for my sisters birthday on a Saturday ( which may be why service were bad ). We sat at table and waited nearly 20 mins before approached for any drinks. I asked for a stella and ended up getting half of a shandy. When ordering food the waitress ended up getting 2 orders from the table of 10 incorrect and as everyone was eating two members of our group were not. When asked for another drink I explained the last was a shandy and should of been a pint of stella, the waitress seemed disconnected and uninterested but agreed to get me the correct drink. 17 mins later, came back with half a shandy. Being polite to my table guests, and she said when I drink it, I can ask for a pint and it would be taken from the tab. I drank this shandy and decided to try get her attention again but eventually got sick of waiting so got up to the bar to get my own. She had forgot she said I could have it taken from the tab and reached out to the guy at the till to add it to the bill. I had to shout across the restaurant that this drink was not to go on the tab, which made me feel embarrassed and uncomfortable. Like I said before guests got the wrong pizza and it needed remaking, but at least my meal was what I ordered. It was average, my sister claims this place makes their own pasta but I could tell it was dried packet pasta. The sauce was was rather bland, the chicken was tough and overcooked. In the bill they did charge for pint of stella 3 times, and what I got was two half shandys and a pint. I felt the service was shocking and the food was standard but nothing to get excited about. I think the place is conveniently in Bolton town and they get plenty of drunk punters from nights out, which as we all know the more drunk one gets the tastier the food. Building was nicely decorated but slightly dated.

Read moreFood quality - ca. 7/10 (comparing to Italian food in Italian cities and towns that is)
Service - ca 4/10 i. extremely not flexible, i.e. not willing to make any adjustments to swapping drinks in a menu in our case even with a top-up. We've not experienced anything like that in any restaurant even chain ones like Wetherspoons restaurants ii. They charged us service charge without asking and we only found out upon manually calculating cost of food spend plus applicable service-charge. We decided not to go back to ask for refund of said charge as we thought not to give them any more work despite them not being upfront. iii. A female waitress did her job with smiley face, friendliness where as one other waiter looked like he was just there to do the work and get paid at the end of the day (in our case, he uttered their policy when asked to swap a coffee with something else, as we can't drink caffeine that late of a day, i.e. nearing evening and one of us being lactose intolerant where they don't have any alternative milk).
Atmosphere - 10/10 (very cosy, the people who dine there are just as warm and kind folks we happened to find with a birthday celebration going on there)
Conclusion: We'd most likely not go back there anymore as we have lots more choices with ones opened by Italians.
p.s as posted by one other reviews, we saw that everyone there isn't Italian (even one waiter who speaks Italian albeit...
Read moreBeen to this place twice recently, in a large group which felt a little rushed..but the food was delicious and house wine very reasonably priced at 14-00 a bottle. The second time was as a last minute thing but glad we came. The special offer in the evenings in the week 15-95 for 3 courses. Great value. Any starter- any pizza or pasta dish - desert or coffee. The meatballs were delicious. Cannelloni - quite a small portion would be my only negative comment. It was lovely though. Lasagne looked good but was again a very small portion. The mushrooms with pasta looked delicious probably the biggest portion. It does make sense to make portions a tad smaller as for the price of the deal it is still fabulous. The atmosphere was relaxed. We had great service and enjoyed our evening. Will be returning again very soon. To sample the Xmas menu. As never...
