Tapaz Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Bolton

Mine and my partners first time to try this restaurant as we pass it often, and we always say we will try it. We did not book a table in advance and just walked in, they squeezed us in which is very nice of them. But unfortunately we waited over an hour and was only served the garlic bread from our order of around 6 to 7 dishes. The garlic bread wasn't amazing. We then asked how long are food was going to be, with a reply of not long we then waited patiently again for around another 20 minutes with still no food service. We then decided to leave and pay for what we had eaten and drunk. The lady who seemed to be incharge of the restaurant was really rude and unprofessional to us. She said we are not a fast food establishment and we had not even booked the table in advance. Which I don't see the difference in booking a table or not for how long the food takes to be ready. Really disappointed as we was really looking forward to trying thier menu. Unfortunately we will never be returning due to the wait and attitude of the woman. I will also not be recommending it to my freinds and family....

Amazing Food, Service and Live Music (Brazilian Band), however I have to mention that the Bill came without being discounted the £20 deposit payed when the reservation was made and with an item I never asked or get it. No problem, it can happens and they sorted immediately. They never charged me the 2 Coffees, they were offered by the Very Friendly Manager. When I arrived home I noticed that they charged me 10% Optional Service charge, I was never informed or asked if I wanted to pay the “optional” 10% even when I told the manager to add £10 to the Bill (tip). OK, in a way it was also my fault, I need to look better to the Bills…..but…..!! I’m kinda disappointed with it, this after what it was a great night, as I mentioned in a place with Amazing Food served by the most Friendly Staff. Even so I’m gonna give the place 4 Stars….not 5 Stars Plus because of what I’ve described above that I want to believe it was a distraction or...

Despicable. Current ratings of this place should be seriously taken with a pinch of salt.

Rang up to book a table for 8pm Friday. The man who answered said it was all-you-can-eat but decided not to tell me that that finished at 8 after I made the booking.

When we got there they were not polite or welcoming in any way. When we were seated, the staff did more frowning than smiling and weren’t exactly what you would called professional.

My date was vegan, and said there wasn’t a very large variety of decent meals. I politely asked the waiter if there was anything else, but instead of saying, “no sorry” he tried to argue with me - stabbing his finger on the menu, “we have this, we have that!”.

After that night I found out that the 10% service charge wasn’t mandatory, so if any of this happens to you just remember that you don’t have to pay it.

There’s no way I’ll be going again other than to complain...
