Snow White, Screen 6, 3.50pm Saturday 22nd March 2025.
Look, I know we're in a cost of living crisis, but, geez, why charge £3.50 for a 100g packet of Magic Stars?? £11.00 for a combo of a hotdog/Nachos and a post mix syrup with a bit of gas added?? I use to work for pubs and clubs and know the prices (even today) and they are making easily £6+ profit if not more. I know, the price of elec, gas, rent etc would of gone up, but to charge even more for prodicts is just gonna put people off even more. Pure and utter greed now and you wonder why cinemas are struggling. They all need to lower the prices, stop making a grab for bigger profits, lower your prices, see a growth of business and take a slow low steady speed of profit instead of putting people off. Safe to say, it was our last trip to the cinema ever. When they put the chocolate in kids eyes as you soon as you enter and charging the price they do, it's not on. £3.50 for Magic stars is not a fair price at all and is plainly ripping customers off. Even the staff was like 'I know'. Fool me once with a Autistic Child screaming she wants chocolate, you won't fool me again.
P. S. On the way out waiting for partner and daughter in toilets, I was stood next to the bar, I looked all around the bar, I didn't see no price list anywhere. There was a menu in a rack with some wines and spirits in there with prices but this was not a full bar drinks menu. It is against the law not to display your prices clearly on top of the bar or on the...
Read moreAVOID THIS UNPROFESSIONAL CINEMA What a terrible experience me and my wife had at the bolton cinema . It was our first visit to that cinema and most certainly our last, during our screening of Halloween we where annoyingly constantly disturbed by a rude couple who constantly talked, joked and generally messed about through out, after about 30 mins I decided to go down and complain about them, as the cinema foyer was now really busy I instead of going to the front patiently queue up, even though the movie was in progress for approx 7/8 mins, then when it was my turn, and I informed the manager of my grievance, and basically said I was missing the movie he said don't see what you're problem is you've only missed a few minutes, said I should move seats , which again why should I have to. He made me feel as though I was in the wrong. We had paid £18 for the 2 tickets which is a lot of money to us as we have very little disposable income , which is not a problem but the whole experience ended up in having an awful night . He simply could have helped and offered a refund or different screening , but instead made me feel wrong . I'm not a person who takes any pleasure in creating problems for other people in there work place , but I found the manager to be completely rude and unprofessional. I haven't aired this grievance publicly until now, as I emailed them after and they said someone would be in touch. 2 months later still nothing. Avoid this place, go...
Read moreWhilst tickets for pre purchased seats can be collected at the machines, this still isn't possible with Infinity card holders - you have to collect at the desk (unlike Cineworld). The 25% discount for Card holders applies to standard snacks and drinks only - you won't get discounted booze! Parking is free after 5pm in Market place. Comfy seats with lots of leg room. Service...oh dear. I've had 3 bad experiences with The Light so far. The first was when I wanted to change the DD payment date and I was advised via email that there was an 'administration fee' of £8. The 2nd was a lecture from one of the staff at the Bolton branch condescendingly calling me 'Moddom' rather than madam when I queried the policy on allocated seats - boy, did he make a fuss about that! The 3rd incident was yesterday when after waiting to be served for a good few minutes, I realised that the staff member was chatting with an acquaintance and not a customer at the counter and was pretty peeved when I interrupted and asked for service! More 'Modoms' ensued...if they keep this up then I'll be escalating it (for all the good that'll do, if other reviews are anything to go by...). The Light need to focus on customer satisfaction. Perhaps feedback should now be encouraged.
Update 29.10.17 Service still no better. Still stood waiting whilst the staff talk to each other and any aquaintances that drop by. Downgraded to 1* and will be dropping the contract soon - sick and tired of the...
