This was the first time experiencing Japanese food in the north of England. The food was absolutely fantastic. One of best meals I have had outside in a while where I and my 2 family members thought the food was value for money and great tasting. The chefs were from Japan or of Japanese heritage. This makes a difference to the flavours and potentially how authentic it is.( I have not been to Japan or eaten halal Japanese food else’s where to make a comparison on how authentic. ) We had the vegetable gyozo. The dumpling appeared as it was made in house( I cannot confirm this) the right balance between the dumpling pastry and filling. A delicate flavour with a sauce, which appeared to be seasoned in house. The beef bao buns were just fantastic. 3 in a portion. These are made on the hibachi grill. This gives a smoky BBQ chariness and the meat is cooked and very tender. The flavour profile was on point. The bao bun was soft but not soggy and moist. It held its structure and complemented the ratio of meat and pickle served. The only other place I have had bao buns that I could recommend is Corna in Bradford . My favourite was the prawn ramen noodles. We went for the spicy option. The tempura batter was light and crispy. The prawns were cooked to perfection . The stock/soup had layers of flavour and certainly had a kick. The noodles were as you would expect. The pickled pink ginger and garnish all enhanced the flavours. We shared this between the three of us Our final dish was the rice bowl(large) and we ordered two chicken and two prawn. This was also spicy. (Spicy yaki) The prawns were cooked on the habachi. They had a nice heat and again cooked to perfection. The chicken was fried and lovely and moist on the inside. the coating had a distinct taste. I would order that chicken and prawn again.the sticky rice was cooked as expected. I prefer ramen so would order my own ramen next time and the same starters and would share the rice bowl. Would I go back. Absolutely . I have not been paid for this review . oh and the egg you get in both the rice bowl and ramen was an egg like I have never had before. It had a taste of soya sauce but just amazing. There was a...
Read moreDecent little takeaway in Bolton.
Overall the food was good. All freshly prepared.
Be sure to call in advance as they don’t always have everything in stock. When we went at 6pm on a Saturday, they had already run out of Beef which was disappointing as we could not get the Beef Ramen or the Beef Bao.
Also be warned there are no hand washing facilities or toilets as it is a takeaway with a few tables which are cramped.
Food wise, I was slightly disappointed with the Ramen Bowls. the Tsukune Ramen was decent although the Tare could have been spicier and the actual meatballs didn’t have much flavour.
The Karaage ramen was better as the fried chicken had a lot more flavour.
The Karaage Bao was also good but a bit dry and could have been better with some sauce within.
The Togarashi fries were unbelievable and had nice spicy kick to them. Accompanied with the Sesame Mayo which...
Read moreWe passed by this restaurant for few times and we saw so many customers inside, so we decided to visit it. It has only 15 seats, so it’s better to come earlier or later dinner time. We ordered salmon sushi, cheesy tempura roll, chicken ramen. Overall the food is good. It’s a pity they don’t offer pork soup option for the ramen. Their ramen is tasty just the chicken is a little bit salty. I really want to find a place the soy sauce is not so salty for the sushi dip. But soy sauce is salty everywhere in Uk. Overall, cheesy tempura roll was good but if the prawn is with more flour to be more crispy, it will be even better. This is recommended and I will go...
