We were very regular visitors at the old Ladybridge site, not only for sit-ins, but also take aways, so we were really upset when we found that site was closing. You were our local when we lived in Deane and still our local when we moved to Little Lever. We really didn't know what to expect from the new Lagan in Horwich.
Arrived for our first visit to the new location in Horwich, only to be greeted not as customers but as friends, big smiles, warm welcomes. Fantastic new location, very warm and welcoming and relaxing environment (not that Ladybridge wasn't).
Changes to the menu, wow - what a difference, not a single scrap of food was wasted - even our daughter cleared her plate.
Our thoughts now - WOW - we will be back and you are still our LOCAL, you are better than ever and it's really great to still be treated as friends. Can't wait to return to make more great...
Read moreNot great … despite reading so many good reviews our personal experience was disappointing and we will not be returning. There are far better Indian restaurants than this within the local region. Service was good and a very clean establishment but our table wobbled throughout the whole meal despite waiter attempting to resolve .. we only received 3 poppadum despite ordering 4 but were charged on bill for 4 and the Chicken shashlik was dry overcooked barely warm and lacked any flavour with only 2 small pieces of pepper and onion. It came on a plate rather than the usual sizzling iron skillet and looked so sad and dry. The vegetable rice was more like pilau with no real vegetables that I could find and although the breads were very pleasant it was an overall underwhelming experience. Was really hoping for so much more having read all the great reviews but actually left...
Read moreOrdered 2 very different curries, both were clearly cooked in the same pan with a cinnamon stick just added to the korai, bland brown looking gravy that looked unappetising. Tasted the same ( jalfrezi and a korai ). I would be interested to see how it was presented as a dine in meal as it looked just terrible, like a off brown gravy. Im a 40 year old guy who has eaten curry all my life, spending my 20s living in the Middle East, I know a curry from a few bits of meat in the nightly restaurant gravy vs a great curry cooked well. This was a shocker to be honest and went in the bin. I appreciate most restaurants have a standard vat of gravy brewing all night as a base but my curries were just that with the meat thrown in. They had 2 tables in that night so i Should have realised to be honest. Oh well I just...
