So, this is a hotel in the middle of a transformation, so there are some issues beyond nomarl control, which is ok. The hotel is fantastically clean, and the housekeeping staff are fantastically attentive, efficient and professional. I split my stay between pitch view and standard rooms, the standard room being a renovated one, my pitchvuew room wasn't. This mean I'm not comparing like for like. Whilst generally well appointed, the pitch view rooms that aren't renovated are definitely in need. There are some fantastic touches - robes, Bluetooth app to control the room climate, crowned with a fantastic sweeping view across the lush pitch around which the stadium beautifully sweeps. Dow sides to these rooms include a French door you can't open, with no in room fridge. The bed itself, whilst comfortable, was a gold away one with a wierd slope and metal arms at the head end. Finally the Samsung flat screens are psotioned high up and to the side on a shelf and are not easy to view if you are in bed, and not big enough given the distance from the bed. The renovated standard rooms are very clean minimalist with white walls and monochrome accents, offset by touches of navy blue, matching the club colours. The looks is clean cosy and the bed, although twin singles pushed together, was very confrotable. Stepping down from a pitch view suite means you lose the fantastic Bluetooth climate control, and have a fan and a window that tilt opens. With climate change throwing up more extreme weather systems, may be an idea to roll out the full air con system to all rooms. Still no fridge but for a short stay of a night or two, you don't really need one. It's a pity I didn't get to experience one of the renovated pitch view suites as I should imagine blending the best bits of both rooms would create something pretty special. I aim to come back and hopefully try one out very soon. Breakfast times are 730-930 through the week and a little later on the weekend. The restaurant and bar area, along with informal sofas chairs and work areas that surround the lifts and stairwell, mean the first floor is where most of the action is. Breakfast is good and the standard of veggie sausages - they are probably the best I have experienced in any hotel. Kudos. I wish they'd serve it on the floor above in the restaurant with pitch views - I find a little natural light never hurt when you want to wake up, and the restaurant below gets very little indeed. Still it's clean, the staff polite friendly and efficient. The restaurant dinner food, also available in the bar or in room, was good with special mention to the pizza's - very good. The margarita can hold it's head up high as its as good as any you'll find in most places in Bolton or Manchester, they are of a very generous size/portion as we're the skinny fries. Done perfectly and of a greedy-pig portion size, unlike the scrooge like portions you can find elsewhere. Finally. The Eton mess was divine. Fabulous and well worth the money. Overall the prices aren't outrageous and for food and drink are possibly slightly below what you'd expect to pay in a hotel or city centre bar. The barman makes a fantastic passionfruit martini, is knowledgeable about whiskies but happy to accept suggestions, and I get the impression he takes pride in his job at the bar. That's rare. One person running the bar at other times could take lessons from him in customer service and how to suggest and serve drinks. Note that bar opening times can be varied reflecting whether the hotel is busy or quiet. One night I missed ordering food literally by maybe a minute or two, but was told room service wouldn't start for half an hour. That was a shame as at that time of night, half an hour is the difference between deciding to eat or just go to bed. Reception staff are absolutely brilliant as is the gm. Friendly, helpful, efficient and unfailingly courteous; professionalism with a warm Lancashire touch. I would recommend this hotel for everything from one night stays to longer holidays. Beautiful.

Super friendly and hospitable staff, but the cleanliness of the lobby, and general areas does not reflect the room experience. I have previously stayed at stadium hotels in milton keynes and norwich, and was mildly impressed with the facilities there. This was not the case in Bolton. I'm not the world's most seasoned traveler, but travel for work on every now and then. I also believe in supporting the hotels over booking sites, as it's layered with additional fees and cutthroat margins. The check in experience through the website was clunky, as it was not made clear that the 'booking' was only a reservation, despite all of the buttons on the website clearly labeled 'BOOK NOW'. Only after waiting in the lobby for 10-15 minutes, did the hostess behind the desk suggest that I could go to my room while they sent an email to the finance department of my office to sign a third party authorisation to charge the room. Despite the card details filled out on the website during booking already being on file? Very curious process. Awkward and unprofessional. It could just be that after sitting on a crowded train for hours, that I wasn't in the best frame of mind at the time, but it was an unnecessary level of bewilderment that I was met with, when I asked for clarification on why exactly the reservation was not paid for during the booking process, as if I was the frst person to ever become confused at this. As a side note, the website does not provide any options or information on breakfast options at time of booking (excuse me...reservation), forcing me to email and add this option to my reservation. This does not scream professionalism. On a more positive note; The breakfast sausages were some of the best i've ever had at a breakfast buffet in a hotel. Meaty, flavoursome and delicious, would definatley eat them again!

Nice hotel, good parking and nice restaurant. Rooms are OK, but the signage designs make no sense. I've stayed twice (and will be there a few more times in the coming months) First time I stayed reception told me room was on the first floor. Walk out the lift and above the doors are big signs showing the way. Great. Second time, reception point me to the second floor. Step out the lift and can't see a sign for my room. Spent a few minutes looking around and finally spot a little sign (maybe A4 in size) with small writing stating conference and hotel rooms with and arrow pointing down some small stairs. (see if you can spot it in the photo) The rooms are comfy, but VERY out dated. No air con, only a very noisy radiator if you turn it up to the point where you can feel the heat. As with a lot of dated hotels there is a lack of plug sockets near the bed meaning you can't charge your mobile phone. (I don't know anyone who doesn't use their phone as an alarm) Decoration was... rustic. Looked like someone had brought picture frames and then glued tinfoil to them. Wouldn't have looked out of place in a quaint village B&B. Bathroom was clean and shower was excellent. Once again tatty decoration and rust on the towel heater were a let down. Arrived on Sunday and main restaurant was closed. Ordered burger from room service. REALLY GOOD BURGER. Breakfast was nice. Self service and food was hot. Plenty of choice.

Just arrived check in was simple got a great clean room by Brian on second floor nice size as well. My room comes with a sealy double bed quite comfy other rooms have two singles. Room has a large wardrobe with two draws, Room also comes with a 32”Samsung led tv. A hair dryer in draw a trouser press if needed. There is also a suitcase stand if required. You get Tea and coffee in a draw with some biscuits if you need more just ask reception they will give you as mush as you need. Kettle is spotless no lime scale inside. Bathroom it a reasonable size with sink and large mirror, bath has a screen at side for shower you also get shampoo and conditioner and small soap to use. Dinner was at 7pm for us but as we was just using for one day they only had fish and chips and mushy peas, I don’t eat fish they they cooked me a breast of chicken with chips and mushy peas which was very good of them all the food was very good. Pudding was not much choice had a chocolate brownie which was a big size and added cream could only manage just over half it was very good can’t complain. Had to go back to room for another tea as not available down stairs in dining room. Bed time was very please once got to sleep only problem was a false fire alarm at around 10.30pm disturb sleep only lasted a minute once back to sleep was very comfy sealy mattress comfort, room was great plenty of room to move and relax wish next hotel visiting was like this one but it’s not. My...
