SHOCKING !!!! SHOCKING !!!!!
I was shopping in tesco horwich Sunday 21st July 2019 and was WRONGLY !! Accused of shop lifting .
Me and my partner sometimes split the shopping , so I put the items what she pays for in a bag going round tesco and the items I pay for straight in the trolley.
So I got to the tills and my partner was still in a store near by , now I paid for the trolley items and I completely did not think about the bagged items and started to walk out the store. As the alams went off I immediately realised the mistake I had made.
I had my partners bank card on me so i said to the security guard (the women) "I am really really sorry but I haven't paid for these items in the bag I will go straight to the tills and pay for them" anyway she wouldnt allow me to do that and wanted to take me straight to the back with the duty and general manager . I explained everything and the duty manager said to the (women) guard "let him pay for the shopping" he could clearly see I had made a "genuine" mistake. But no the security guard once again the women guard at tesco horwich wouldnt let me even though you would think the manager has the final say.
So now they are taking me to court to pay for the shopping I did NOT get and was worth around as little as £20. I told her to have a little faith in people and that not everyone is a theif and a lowlife.
Once again tesco it was a mistake you need to train your staff a little more and also how not to swear at customers.

Read moreHaving shopped at Tesco for 40 years I have to say the company has drastically deteriorated over the last 18 months, there is hardly ever a checkout available on Saturday mornings and if there is you have to queue for some considerable time. A lot of the staff have a serious attitude problem and very unhelpful especially on the travel money desk. I tried to purchase some euro's the other evening at 5pm only to arrive to find the kiosk closed, there was a woman behind the counter slowly putting money into plastic bags, she had placed a sign saying "open in 15 minutes" in the window. on the sign was a clock with the hands placed at ten to five so I thought I would wait five minutes while she finished. she then informed me in a fairly aggressive tone she would be another 15 minutes and to go and do some shopping, I explained if I did so it would be after 6pm when returned and she would be closed but she ignored me and continued with her mundane task. I explained that the website states that the travel money service is open 9.00am - 6.00pm so there shouldn't be a sign saying "open in 15 minutes" but she continued to ignore me, I then wondered if 15 was actually referring to her IQ and not minutes, I left my trolley and Tesco bags for life in the store and have thrown away my Clubcard, I will never shop at this awful place again! I have since tried to make a customer complaint but to no avail, there isn't anyway to do so online you just have a number to ring which nobody...
Read moreSecurity staff are polite, friendly and helpful. Checkout staff are great, self-pay/scan staff are lovely, customer service staff are very amenable, night shelf-packing staff are busy in their own world until you ask for help and then they can’t do enough for you, pointing you to the right aisle or going to the warehouse to check stock. Almost everyone who works at this store does their utmost to make customers happy and do it with a smile. New night manager could do with assessing and appreciating the value of his established staff and listen to what they know. All very well getting that degree but there’s more to being good with people than a certificate that says you’re good at studying a specific subject. I was literally chased down an aisle by this person because the store was about to close. The security guard let me in 7 minutes before closing because he knows me. I work late. I try to get there asap and when I arrive I dive straight to the couple of things I want and run to the till because I appreciate that the staff have been working all night and want to close the door and they know that I won’t take the p!ss. This is the value of your staff mister night manager. Don’t give them a good talking to for letting me in. They know what they’re doing. They’re making a global company feel like a local shop with their helpfulness and familiarity. You have your skills, they have theirs....
