Two visits to this place both awful for different reasons. First was bad but decided to give them the benefit of doubt and come again, but again severely disappointed.
First visit was with our two children (1 and 5) they took almost an hour to serve our food, and I think they only did because I had to remind them. Between the main course and dessert was another long wait to the point we almost decided to leave. Having two children wait this long was an absolute nightmare. Other problems were the staff not listening to us, we asked for some water several times from different servers all of which were ignored.
The main guy serving us realised we had had a bad experience and gave us a discount as an apology.
Second visit, without children (for once!) we decided to give them another chance given our previous experience at other TGIs were normally good. This time again service was slow but better. They almost got our starters wrong but quickly rectified. However when our mains came that's when the problems started. Firstly we had no cutlery. On asking for some and after waiting for nearly ten minutes I decided to take it from the empty table next to us. When the food server gave us our food he kindly asked "is there anything you'd like me to get you?" I asked for mayo - which again was ignored!
The desserts came and weren't nice the cheese cake was half frozen but half warm as if it had been badly defrosted. The fresh fruit sundae with berries came with some sliced apple and no berries.
Overall I would not recommend this place nor would I like to come back. The staff seem preoccupied in singing happy birthday and meandering around as opposed to doing their job. One example, when we finished our starters I watched 5 members of staff walk past our table empty handed - looking at our plates and ignoring them.
I have no idea how the staff are trained. Maybe they're just their to have a good time at the expense of...
Read moreThis was by far the worst restaurant and customer service experience I’ve ever had. We used to be regulars at this TGI Fridays, but our last two visits have been incredibly disappointing.
During our most recent visit for unlimited brunch, the service was painfully slow. Staff repeatedly apologized, yet before we were even finished, we were abruptly told that our current plate would be our last. Meanwhile, food sat visibly on the hot plate for long periods due to a clear lack of staff to serve it.
What made the experience even worse was a disturbing incident involving another customer. A man was loudly and aggressively verbally abusing the person he was with. This continued for several minutes, and the entire restaurant—including children—was visibly uncomfortable and shaken. Shockingly, staff were fully aware but did nothing to intervene. It took another customer to step in and ask the man to stop swearing and to treat his companion with respect.
I’ve contacted TGI Fridays more than ten times through various channels, including their website. I initially received a response, but it failed to address several key concerns I raised. I replied to follow up, but never heard back. Since then, I’ve reached out multiple times across different platforms and have yet to receive any further response. It’s astonishing that a company of this size seems to find it acceptable to completely ignore customer complaints.
We haven’t returned since, and at this point, we don’t plan to. On a positive note, we recently tried Brew Dog for Wing Wednesday, and it was a far better experience in every way but I will continue to post on social media and message them until I get an...
Read moreA very mixed bag. Me and my Wife visited here on Thursday 15th June at around 19:45. We had to wait for a good 10 to 15 minutes before any drinks were offered. Then another 5 to 10 minutes until someone took our food order.
The staff we encountered were lovely, although we weren't asked how things were at any point and we weren't offered any more drinks during the meal.
The food was excellent. I was very impressed with the Cajun Bacon Chop, although would have preferred a slightly bigger plate, because everything was confined into quite a small plate.
The drinks were also very good. But I felt both the food and drink were very expensive. Even though my Strawberry Fields drinks were 2 for 1, seeing they're £9 each (!) I felt ripped off despite them being very pleasant.
I felt bad not leaving a tip, as the young lady who looked after us was extremely pleasant. I just wasn't happy about the long wait after we had been seated until a member of staff came to serve us and also the lack of service at times during the meal.
Even when we paid the bill we weren't asked how we had found things. My Wife was going to order a dessert, but given how slow and none existent the service was at times, she decided not to do so.
We thoroughly enjoyed the food, but the service was very lacking at times. Also I do feel the cost of TGI Fridays has rocketed. Shame, as I couldn't fault the food at all. Even with a discount code my Wife found online the bill for our Starters/Mains/Drinks came to...
