Bizarre experience today, it's almost like you don't have people collecting, but anyway, here's what happened.
Ordered a collection for 17:20, figured I go a little early as I'm not from the area, ended up going in at 17:15 and telling the first lady at front of house that I was a bit early but was here for a collection, asked me to wait at a table where people who were also waiting for a table in the restaurant , so thats all fine.
Now, I don't mind waiting, but 15 minutes went past the collection time, seen about 6-7 groups of people come in and get seen to a table, I'm just sitting there on my phone, yeah it seems busy so no problem, i'll give it 20 mins or so, not one to make a fuss.
So, come just before the 20 minute mark of waiting, the front of house lady asks me if i'm alright, so I said "yeah, i'm waiting for a collection order", what's bizarre is she then asks me if I have it? What a weird question to ask a customer, why would I continue to sit there if I have it, theres no bag next to me or anything, so me looking at her a bit perplexed I said er no?
Now, I'm fairly certain it was the same lady who originally spoke to me at the door, so if you've seen me sitting there while your seating other people waiting for an actual table at the same waiting table, makes me think that original conversation never happened about telling you that I was just here to collect an order, mind you I was the ONLY one collecting an order, its not like she forgot I was waiting for a table.
After that she went to I guess a senior member of staff, the two of them went off and the senior staff member (making assumptions here) came back with the bag, said she put a can of coke in the bag as I guess as a way of apologising for the wait and said she was going to get a voucher, now I was a bit miffed at that point with the previous conversation and the way that went, so I said no forget it and walked out.
On the plus side the food was nice, and the attempt to reimburse the wait has saved an additional star in the rating, but I'm sorry I've never put a bad review of anywhere before and the majority of that is based on that stupid conversation, I don't know what the thought process was there, that is all.
TL:DR - Ordered collection, waited patiently, was asked if I was ok like I wasn't supposed to be there, staff forgot I was waiting for order(?), asked me bizarre question if I had collected the order when I have nothing with me, collected order after 25 minutes or so, walked...
Read moreRating a 2 star solely because of this visit. Every time i have visited this wagamamas i’ve recieved amazing service and all the staff are lovely and so is the food. However on this occasion i have to say otherwise. Grace, our primary waitress was amazing, very smiley and cheery- no bad word to say, kept up a calm and happy composure no matter how busy it was. However, while i didn’t get his name- the waiter who brought our food to us had a real attitude. I asked politely for some chopsticks in which he got for us no problem- however when he was getting the chopsticks i realised there was no seasoning in the 7 spice mix so when he returned i politely asked if i could get some more, and apologised repeatedly as he had just made a trip for our chopsticks and i know how annoying difficult customers are when it’s busy. He took the 7 spice pot away with an attitude, and when he brought my food over it was slammed quite forcefully on the table and he stormed away before i even had the chance to thank him. Another thing id like to mention is the seating. I understand it was very busy and they have to see to all customers but me and a friend were sat next to a very large loud family who were that close i felt like i couldn’t converse with my friend- whilst i understand you can’t control how busy it is, there was a completely empty outside seating area which i think would be a good idea to offer to customers if they wanted more space. I really don’t like to leave bad reviews, especially considering every time i have visited this location i’ve had no issues whatsoever but this experience and the blatant attitude really...
Read moreVisiting bolton yesterday in the mid afternoon with family. after lockdown eased, we were looking forward to sit down again to have our meal there. We understand the UK weather were unpredictable but we brave it anyway as we knew restaurant have parasol as the rule for not eating inside is still in place. Order our meal as usual didn't have problem, meal came as acceptable time. my family enjoying meal including me even when the steak that goes with my chilli ramen a little bit tough. Drizzle started as we were halfway having our meal, then become a little bit heavier , what surprised me was none of the staff have the idea to open another parasol which were just there left un open. most importantly none of them have the courtesy to offer another table which has even a little bit of space. One of them just offer us an umbrella for me to hold while finishing my food. Good, but not good enough as we get wetter as the minutes goes by. I decided to go and change table and split my family to any available seat which not under the rain. One of my daughter stay put and ate under the rain. as she has no option, there were no more dry seat. We felt rush to finish our meal as staff kept taking customer in while there are no other dry seat or under the parasol. My daughter decided to have the dessert takeaway instead of eating there, as we consider other customer. Me and my daugter had to eat quickly and give up our seat as we felt sorry for other customer who were walking around looking for seat.
Not very good customer service experience at all. They are not prepared for outdoor dining, perhaps should consider...
