Visited to celebrate my birthday and I can’t fault the food at all. The food tastes fresh and I can’t recommend it enough. However we felt let down by the service tonight, firstly we were asked for our ID which we had no problem showing. However it became clear to us that this was a result of an older staff member whispering to other members of staff, said older staff member kept staring at us throughout the evening which had us on edge the entire time. He also said this to multiple members of staff as we were asked for our ID twice, as mentioned we have no problem with this and we understand the law etc, but for some reason this one member of staff had a real bee in his bonnet regarding us. We also had a mix up with what had been ordered, staff came to us asking if we’d already had our garlic bread and bruschetta, I had to explain that we had in fact not ordered the bruschetta. Shortly after this a garlic bread was brought to us and again we explained we had already had ours. Throughout the meal we were being constantly rushed, I understand they are busy but we had booked this multiple weeks prior. As soon as either of us, not both, had finished with a plate it was swiftly taken away. This happened with both our starters and mains leaving the other person feeling rushed to finish. We really enjoyed the food, however on this occasion we felt we were let down by the service. We saw other tables get much better treatment and think we were singled out due to our younger age and the fact we were not a larger group.

ne word wow ! I would advise to book a table as it gets busy. I came to this restaurant everytime i ame to st anne as a child and it was the best, well it is still the best. The food was perfection! Yes it is pricey but you pay for good food! As a family run business, one of the best goung. They was welcoming and friendly. When pressented with the wine they even let use taste it to make sure we was happy with that brand(white chardonnay). The menu was brilliant, both in english and the Italian name and had a brilliant selection loads of amazing starters and garlice bread. Then mains like homemade lasagna, risotto, pasta, pizza(brilliant collection) to stakes. There was also a children's menu good selction for them and at a brilliant price. All i can say is well worth the money and they also do take out!!! And will do doggie dags for you 😊 Thank you so much you where all fantastic 😀

We dropped by during the kite festival since the area was really busy and just wanted somewhere to rest and have lunch. Even though there were plenty of empty tables inside, we were given quite a small one. Once the food arrived, there wasn’t enough space for everything, and the waiter didn’t seem to understand when we asked to change tables — he just placed all the dishes on the small table at once, leaving us with no room. Eventually, after asking another waiter, we were moved to a larger table, but the service definitely lost some points there. As for the food, it was quite average despite the good reviews we saw beforehand. The handmade pasta was the highlight, but everything else was pretty forgettable. The salt and pepper squid in particular was far too salty 😅.

We'd stopped by Allegria one afternoon for a quick drink on their terrace and decided to go back the next evening for a meal. We did phone an hour or so beforehand to book a table and they were able to fit us in, half an hour later than we'd asked for, which was fine by us, especially at such short notice! The restaurant was busy, with couples, groups and families, but there were plenty of lovely staff to make sure that everyone was looked after and that take-away orders could still be catered for too. There is a good range of choice on the menu, without it being too much, and all the dishes are clearly described so that you know what you are ordering! The prices seemed to be very reasonable too. We shared a dish of olives and a garlic bread with cheese as a starter. All freshly prepared and very tasty. I had steak for my main and my wife had chicken breast, both with peppercorn sauce and seasonal vegetables which, in this case, were small roast potatoes, broccoli, carrots and green beans. The meat was beautifully cooked and chargrilled with not a sign of even the smallest bit of fat. The roast potatoes were perfect and the veg was nicely cooked with just a hint of crunch still in them. The whole plate was nicely presented and tasted fantastic!! We were too full for dessert but had some tiramisu to take away with us. I was only drinking shandy and my wife had a few drinks but the overall bill seemed perfectly reasonable to us. We think we've found our new favourite place for when we next...

Whilst the food was ok overall unfortunately our evening was marred by a restaurant that was clearly overbooked and over stretched. This was a birthday celebration and we were hoping for a special evening but the restaurant and staff were just so busy the service was inattentive and we felt overlooked. Food hit and miss in parts, some food was cold and one pasta dish just had an overall taste of burnt food, we didn’t complain as at this point we’d been waiting 1 hour 45 minutes from our booking to get our main courses so we weren’t sending anything back. Avoid the trio of Panna Cotta, sickly sweet base topped with ice cream syrups, there were horrible. Quite simply this restaurant had accepted more bookings/walk ins than it was able to adequately cope with and as a result all aspects of the service and food suffered. That said, the young man who was running the upstairs bar and taking all the flack from unhappy customers who had been waiting ages for there tables was great, he kept his cool under what must have been stressful evening and is a credit to the restaurant.

I hope management take this review on board going into the spring/summer months and considers customer experience as a priority over as many bums on seats as possible. We expected a lot more for the price and based on our evening would not return...
