I have been visiting this excellent cafe for many years where I am always made to feel welcome and valued The homemade food is excellent with something for everyone The cakes are famous and baked with quality ingredients As a owner of two pekingese dogs sadly one blind now it is a pleasure to know we are welcomed and accepted Many many regular customers have been enjoying the cafe and the friendly atmosphere Indeed today I am introducing a senior neighbour to the delights as I know he will enjoy the daily 'special ' hot meal and I will have a fresh salad It is always clean bright and appealing with brisk efficient servers...

Had a lovely lunch here last week when smoked haddock rarebit was on the specials! It was really nice so went back with my family for a breakfast today and was very disappointed ☹️ Extremely cheap sausages! The cheapest you can get and the toast had been put ontop of the cooked tomato's so was soggy! For £25 was expecting better! It all really needs updating! I felt sorry for the lady Infront of me who was spoken to so rudely. Maybe change counter assistant to someone warm with a smile! She only asked for ice in her water! Not alot to ask for in 2024 And maybe not shout "anything else" after every item ordered! You really don't...

Update. Visited today 11/1/25 just after lunchtime and it appears this Cafe allows reservations. Empty tables with people waiting seemed to lead to a bit of tension with people looking to grab a seat. Witnessed some outright rude behaviour from people who were old enough to know better.
