Came upon this delightful little café just a couple of minutes walk from both the main square and the seafront, and popped inside for a light lunch. It was very busy but the staff could not have been more friendly and welcoming. Loved the cosy glass roofed courtyard with its cobble wall, profusion of greenery and comfy seating. The atmosphere was relaxed and casual, and it's dog friendly. Plenty of choice on the drinks menu and I was also given a jug of water with my meal. The varied lunch menu included breakfasts, sandwiches and small plates. Some really imaginative and unusual dishes and plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans. Ordered a pastrami brioche with grilled cheese, mustard, pickled gherkins and onions. Very flavoursome, not too filling, fresh ingredients. Nice selection of cakes on the counter too, had a Malteser brownie and it was delicious! The mocha had a lovely rich flavour. Attentive service throughout the meal. Would certainly recommend this café and...
Read moreI visited as part of a group of four we missed the very busy lunch time period on Wednesday with about 20% occupancy. Our table hadn't been cleaned properly as some of the previous diners crumbs and food smears was still on the surface not a problem as we had cleaning wipes but extra care should be taken particularly during these covid times. I had the lamb burger with chips and Branston pickle it was excellent moist full of flavour , other members of our group had different meals all excellent. We would have stayed for a sweet and coffee but our daughter needed to change her baby's nappy we were surprised to find no baby change facilities on the premises, though not a legal requirement it is something parent's with small children should...
Read moreMyself and Steven (my husband) we’re on a walk and stumbled across this lovely looking place. it has great atmosphere and service was ok. the staff were very welcoming and offered us water on arrival- even for our dog! All was great, our coffees were excellent. Steven ordered tea cakes and i ordered the waffles which were both advertised as home made. I am telling you now there is no way they are home made! The waffles were cold in the middle and were not appertising at all. In fact… Steven was not even able to stomach it- they must be some cheap tea cakes. The Courtyard is a lovely cafe in a great spot with lots of potential but clearly has been let down by the quality of food and i will NOT...
