I initially wanted to email the restaurant with feedback following a very disappointing visit yesterday, as I thought it was unfair to damage the restaurants feedback score when it was an obnoxious staff member I had issue with. Unfortunately my emails were undelivered from the two addresses they provide on the website and social media.
It's lovely place in a great location. The food was also great. Unfortunately one of the team really let the place down.
My partner ordered our food, ordering a garlic bread with cheese for me and a goats cheese salad for herself. The food that actually arrived for me was a goats cheese pizza with caramelised onions. Had I not dietary requirements preventing me from eating such a pizza then I would have let the error go, but unfortunately I was unable to.
On raising the issue with the waitress I was abruptly told 'She definitely ordered the goats cheese pizza', ignoring my partner whilst accusing her of being able to order food correctly. Pretty disrespectful I thought. My partner, aka 'she', actually ordered the garlic bread with cheese, but that was not good enough for the waitress. We were told that my partner was lying and if we wanted the correct pizza we would have to pay for two pizzas! What?! Had we not already paid for the food then I would have walked out of your restaurant at this point.
I had a fair bit of experience in hospitality throughout my teens and early twenties and have a good idea of how customers should be treated. Regardless of whether or not my partner accidently ordered the wrong food (which she did not), I know that every establishment I've ever worked in would have gracefully accepted the situation and served the correct pizza without making accusations and demeaning a customer in front of a full restaurant.
Fortunately on speaking with the manager she agreed to replace the pizza, but we had no apology and had a very unpleasant overall experience. We paid good money for our food experience and the way my partner was spoken to was completely unacceptable.
I hope that this staff member will be spoken to and given some training in hospitality to prevent this happening to another...
Read moreI popped in to meet my son for a drink after work, something I have done several times since moving here. I walked up to the bar, where I was the only one waiting, there were two ladies working behind the bar, I waited patiently and read the wine board, they spoke to each other but didnt greet me or give me eye contact or say they'd be with me soon because they apparently were too busy. I carried on waiting, another man came up to the bar, they greeted him, so I left, feeling very disappointed my custom was so unvaluable. Very disappointing service...
Read moreThe bar is small but you have seating outside also which can accommodate wheelchairs. I am unsure if it is step free access to inside. I would call and ask as I think I had to step up to get in. The atmosphere was calm and friendly with customers interacting with different groups. The food looked nice although we didn't order on this visit. Drinks were pricey. Parking is difficult as you need to find it at the roadside. This place is in the town centre so options are few depending on the time...
