Absolutely love Tarla. The staff are always welcoming and remember our order so as soon as we pop in, the get the drinks made which is very sweet. The menu is very inclusive and there is something on there for everyone. Food is always delicious and priced perfectly for what you get. Highly recommend! Update- there is now a service charge of upto a £1 per adult for food but the warning is not clearly displayed before you order or told to you when you order. Whilst I have no problem paying a service charge and feel its ling overdue for the lovely workers, I do feel it should be a set price rather than one that can be changed as it allows customers to know what's been added to their bill instead of going to pay and being told the bill was higher that it states on the menu and it was then that we were told that a 50p charge had been added for a sandwich. It would be more advisable to make the warnings bigger and placed either as a sticker added to the menus, placed around more where people can actually see it or have the waiter/waitress alert the customer before placing orders, after all we can't always tell who has visual impairments, disability or learning impairments or just regulars like us that don't look at the wall because we already know what we want and we don't go to the checkout until after we have eaten as they have table service so we wouldn't see the other sign. The sign in the picture was taken today and its currently on the wall under a menu that no one actually looks at and it's extremely hard to see or read. For the photo I had to zoom my camera as far as it could and I was sitting on the table outside nearest the funeral directors wall so literally about 3-4 steps away! Needs to be bigger please so everyone is aware and can properly see it and stick to a fixed charge per adult meal rather than one that is altered so we know what we are paying for 😊. Still a lovely place with great staff and would...
Read moreCalled in for lunch placed order with waitress who seemed more interested in her nails, ordered a starter and two main courses and made a point of saying both mains to be served together. Husband ordered a can of Coca-Cola to drink.
One very warm half poored can arrived in a glass no ice nothing. Undrinkable as so warm.
His starter arrived less garnish and sauce as described on menu. Before we could even query the missing items my main course of omlete was plonked on the table and waitress walked off. We quoted lack of salad and sauce for start, hot!! Cold drink and why was my main being served before my husband had even been able to take a mouthful of start less garnish and sauce as per menu listing.
We tried to highlight the problems and got told well they have cooked it now and seemed unable to understand that Coca-Cola is not a hot beverage.
We left, we are not unreasonable people just wanted a special lunch not in a pub and thought we would support local restaurant in view of half the high street being blocked for flats sewer works. We stupidly even left cash to cover the food but couldn't continue to eat somewhere were they won't even acknowledge there mistakes.
Can not recommended this eatery Your...
Read moreTerrible experience 😪 ever this was my second time going there with my wife, the first time the food was terrible, and l thought l ordered something l didn't know. Today we decided to go and order something else but familiar. We waited for the food patiently for 47minutes. My wife had to ask the waiter what was going on .She apologised and went to inquire in the kitchen, she came back and told us that they had forgot about our order so the only options we have is to cancel the order or wait some more. We decided to wait, oh my God we shouldn't have waited the food came all grease l almost vomited just by the look. We were upset 😡 so we just paid our bill and decided to put our frustration...
