It's March 10, rainy out. Took a bus to Ikley for a walk. This walk turned into a 10 mile hike through mountains, rocks and farms. Falling, getting all muddy and no food or water for the 5 hour hike was definitely in the mood for something nice. Found this Turkish place with some good overall score so decided to go. I was very concerned with all the mud on my shoes and my clothes but they didn't care. They sat us down and took our coats, no questions asked. Felt like a beer was needed but they only offered 1 cask and about 5 bottles, took a peroni. Since I had no food since 7 and it was 1500 I was in need of a lot of food so ordered a starter called wrapped pepper which was a roasted red pepper wrapping feta cheese. When it came I was perplexed by such a mess on my plate. What is all this green dots all over and streaks of black. As well as other stuff that I could blow away (I did). the wrap itself was fine and came with the yogurt sauce that I used for the homemade (their words not mine) bread that was warm and good. The green dots were a mint sauce and the black was I believe a reduced balsamic vinegar. For my main I got a vegetarian pizza, why not try a pizza in a Turkish place I told myself. And again I was perplexed by what was put on my plate. This sort of looking flower in the middle of the pizza that was just dropped there after the pizza was cooked. I gave it a touch and it was cold, it was an artichoke and it tasted jarred. It had a mint leaf on top which I put in my mouth by mistake and almost choke, spit it out since that provides absolutely nothing to the pizza. Sauce and cheese were good and the crust was crunchy and not burned. Needless to say not impressed, food was fine but those extra things were unnecessary. On the plus side, at least the tap water had a lemon that I sucked at the end to cleanse my palate from that disgusting artichoke...
Read moreI visited here for my birthday with friends, there were 12 of us in total. On arrival the table of 12 was split over 2 lots of 6, back to back. As the room was empty at that time I asked if they could be changed into one big table of 12. I was then told by the lady behind the bar that this was not possible. I have previously visited on a work event with more than 12 people and this was accommodated with no issues.
After we finished our starters our empty plates remained on the table for approximately 45 minutes, it took someone going up to the bar to ask them to remove the empty plates.
There was then another long wait until our main dishes arrived, we had been there well over 2 hours before they came. During this time we only got asked once for a further drink order, guests had to go to the bar to request a staff member to come take an order.
During the whole meal there was no apology for the poor service, the food itself was good but by the time it arrived most of us were past the point of eating. When paying the bill, without realising, we were all charged service charge without being warned and I thought this was completely unacceptable. Overall we were all very disappointed and will not...
Read moreGreat atmosphere! Prompt and polite service. Felt very safe while dining with my other half, safe social distancing measures are in place. Affordable prices with alot of offers. I am usually a very picky eater but after finding The Olive Branch a couple years ago in Ilkley this is now my go to spot when we go out. I love the portions and you can really pick the right meals to have a healthy evening meal with a treat. I love the grilled chicken that comes with salad and rice. I also love the grilled halloumi cheese! I always highly recommend to my friends for our get together meals out. We will be...
