The food was absolutely delicious. The wine exquisite and the dessert divine. Yep I never thought I’d use such words but now nearly 3 months later as I write this review I remember it with a smile. Relaxing ambiance of the roof terrace with wonderful views of the hills. We spent the afternoon on Ilkley moor and needed to find somewhere to eat, knowing, September 2021, everywhere seemed to suddenly want everyone to book, everywhere seemed busy because covid restrictions had lifted, more people were eating out. As we were on holiday and the holiday cottage we were staying in was naff, we ate out every day. The good side of horrible accommodation was the joy of trying many different wonderful places to eat out. And of all those many places, this was the best (and most expensive, and we're used to London prices, even Michelin star prices, but it was worth every penny!). i am still smiling at the wonderfully relaxing peaceful non-stressful meal we had on the terrace, and how laid back in a good no rush you way, it was. Arriving in Ilkley town, there were many places but it was very cold and the menu on the outside of Piccolino had things I could eat, so we thought lets ask if they’ve a table. (I find it very hard these days to find a place which caters for my dietary requirements, and protect my kidneys and heart diet! – no processed food, no red meat, no salt, no spicy, no mustard….) We asked and they said there was space on the roof terrace – well that sounded very nice so we said yes please and were shown up the stairs – which I have to say I managed with arthritis, but some may not. On the roof terrace the ambiance was lovely. Heaters were at intervals giving off a lovely red glow (makes you look good in pics) and warmth. Lots of small lights in the green decor and very comfy seats. wonderful views of the hills. Not many people at this stage so I got a couple of great photos without people in them, but we were there at 6pm, quite early, by 8pm the restaurant was pretty full. Lovely meal, lovely location on enclosed roof terrace with view of hills. We will definitely dine here again when we are next in Ilkley visiting family. This helped the holiday have a wonderful glow.

Visit here with a party of 7 for a friends birthday on a Saturday evening. Was very impressed with the seating and lovely dining atmosphere on the terrace. Plenty of choice on the menu, something for everyone. Staff was very friendly, food took about an hour which was slightly on the longer side but as a party of 7 and Saturday evening can’t complain! Food was exceptional!! Pictured is the carbonara and one of the seafood pastas which were both truly excellent!!! Pasta ordered was the “large” size, truthfully this wasn’t huge and probably just a regular sized portion so would advise against the small portion unless ordering starters and/or sides aswell. Also had a few cocktails and wine. Really enjoyed our evening, staff was warm and friendly. Will definitely be back to try more off the menu !

The rooftop at Piccolino’s is stunning — gorgeous atmosphere, lovely vibe, and our server was genuinely fantastic. However, the main course I received completely ruined the experience. I ordered the large king prawns for £28.95 and was shocked to be served just six prawns and a slice of toast. Meanwhile, my partner ordered the seafood skewers for £28.75, which included six king prawns plus tuna, scallops, courgettes, and salad — all for 20p less. The price difference between the two dishes is simply unjustified. For a high-end restaurant, you’d expect consistency and fair value, but this felt completely unbalanced and honestly, quite disappointing. Such a shame, because everything else was lovely. But based on this, I won’t be returning.

What a shame...

We eat regularly in Picollino Ilkley and when in the restaurant the service is fab and food is fantastic unfortunately the same can not be said for the 2 go service.

We have had Pincollino 2 go twice now and on both Occassions it has been disappointing however today was beyond unacceptable.

The first evening we ordered chateaubriand medium x2 and unfortunately this turned up and well done and so wasn’t the quality we would normally expect. However we thought it was a one off so we didn’t say anything.

Tonight we ordered 3 different meals; Turkey Escalopes, Lobster and Fillet steak (ordered rare due to the last order) here is what was wrong:

The steak came medium (which is what I wanted but if you actually like rare I’m positive this isn’t possible for them) it also had a very funny taste as if it had gone off so was in edible. The turkey dish which was meant to be mushroom and white wine sauce was more like mushroom and oil sauce. It was dripping in grease. The lobster had around 7 mouthfuls in it so certainly not £50 worths of Lobster it was also very over cooked.

All of these meals totalled around £93

To make matters worse when we phoned the restaurant to explain that 2 of us were not eating our meals and the Lobster was inadequate the General manager would not understand where we were coming from and spoke over us ALOT.

We were given some money back, unfortunately not to cover the meals that were not eaten or disappointing. They did also offer some more meals but we have now been disappointed twice so have lost faith in this service. I wonder what would have happened if we were in the restaurant? As all meals would have been sent back.

Unfortunately due to the poor service they have now lost our custom even once they open again which is a real shame as we normally go once a month and spending a considerable amount.

This location is not suitable for delivery food and need to work harder on how their boxing and timings mean the food is not cooked to there normal standard. If you can’t do delivery to a reasonable standard don’t do it.

It’s a shame I can’t add photos as I would love to give some evidence of the over cooked steak, greasy turkey and...

We made a booking as we were staying one night locally. When we made the booking we were asked if we'd like "the terrace" - which we said yes.

Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. Music was dreadful - a continuous "Ibiza" beat. Not quite the quiet couples night we were looking forward to. The infra-red heating was creating it's own hole in the Ozone layer - but the draught from the window behind my back was freezing!

We were encouraged to download the app - in order to get "the Friday discount special" - two courses and a drink for £25 per person. We did so, but the two courses were starter & main ( we'd rather have a main & dessert).

The starters arrived very promptly and were very tasty. Mr M's plate was clearly heated in the bowels of hell. Even after the food was eaten, the waiter couldn't pick it up when he cleared the table.

We had to ask twice about our mains and were told they were "two minutes away". We actually waited about an hour for our main course.

In fairness, the food was fantastic - we both had the risotto. It tasted freshly cooked and egg was perfectly cooked.

When we asked for the bill, it was presented with a charge of £224 - clearly the wrong table. When that was queried, another bill was presented for £55. Bearing in mind the "Two Course Special" was £25 per person, we were rather confused.

Mr M queried the amount and was told the there was was 10% service charge!

Under normal circumstances, we are happy to pay service charge or leave a considerable tip. However, the service tonight simply did not merit.

A very disappointing experience. And I have deleted the app, as we will not...
