Had dirty late. Which by what I was told is a Late with chai infusion. Also piece of cheesecake.
I like that positive vibe i had first time i went inside. There's already few other caffe places in proximity of a half a mile if you check maps. Costa, Nero, one upstairs of a book shop, Tiffin Coffee, another Costa inside Broadway shopping centre... Yup, you're spoiled for a choice when you fancy coffee. Why this place then?
Let's start with interior of a place. Chairs where i sat where comfortable and mine at least quite deep. Didn't expect to fall inside one. It was comfortable once i sat in. Love the cushion too to have it on my back. And best of all and i know I'm going to sound like a hipster. đ€Š I just loved sitting in front of a massive window being able to watch others. Im weird what can i do?
Dirty late was definitely something worth checking. Late by it self isn't the best beverage you can think of. Adding little chai spice definitely adds to flavour and overall experience. I will have it again, no question about that.
Lets move to cheesecake which in my opinion was disappointing. On the paper everything was there. Love the small addition of honey (or was it a golden syrup?) on it. As well as whipped cream. Layer of chocolton top was good too. Felt bit cheaper for a chocolate, and in my opinion dark chocolate would be better addition. Crunchy, biscuits layer on bottom was bit too hard and too dry if im honest. But the biggest crime was the middle it self. It had consistency ifna cheesecake. It definitely looked like one. Simple there was not enough cheese in it. Maybe I'm the one who had too much cheesecake in my life. Based on Mascarpone or ricotta they've got full body flavours and they are exactly what you expect. It will melt, leaving soft finish in your mouth. But it was good. Not the best ever, but something i did enjoy.
Why 4 starts then? It's flipping expensive. Staying in and having what i had will leave you 10ÂŁ lighter in you pocket. Yes there's an option to take out and it's few pence cheaper. But that still means its more expensive than competitors around. By few quid per person.
I guess being hipster is expensive...
Read moreWow what can i say . . . . Such a hidden little gem in the heart of Bradford . Although there are few coffee shops within such a small proximity this is by far the most appealing one .
Decor inside is welcoming , clean and comfortable. Ideal if you want to go there and catch up with friends or sit by the big windows and people watch . I also noticed it has free wifi and several usb ports available if you wish to use the coffee shop as a place to work / study . There is no annoying back ground noise and overall gives of a feeling of calmness.
The coffee its self is beautiful, i must say its probably the best iv had in bradford and well worth the value .
The sandwiches were well presented and tasted fresh . I asked to add cheese to mine and that was not a issue .
Although , the prices are slightly higher then other establishments. You are paying that bit extra for the quality and the fact you dont get stuck to the floor when you walkin like many other premises...
Read moreI went into this cafe to order a coffee but was desperately needing the toilet. I asked politely if I could use the toilet, then order a coffee, I got a very clear NO. I proceeded to attempt to place an order for coffee but both staff were rude and unwelcoming. When I asked why they were being unfriendly I rude!! The male staff decided to address me in such a rude manner, I requested for them to cancel my order and their response was âitâs people like you that mean we cannot allow people to use the toiletâ when asked what they meant by âpeople like meâ I was asked to get out, this guy comes from behind the counter in such a threatening manner all because I asked a question that pulled on their prejudices. Shame on you and Iâll never buy a coffee from that chain. Thank goodness cafe Nero was just next door, they allowed me to use the toilet and I orders myself a coffee. Be warned if you look different this cafeâs employees will make sure that you know...
