I visited Pave Haworth two weeks after returning from a holiday in France, a holiday where I ate some wonderful restaurant food, and I have to say the food I was served at Pave was up to that standard. There were four in our party, we had 2 starters to share, buffalo mozzarella and patas bravas, 2 staple’s which grace many a menu up and down the country, both dishes were some of the best I have tasted. Then came our main course, ox cheek cassoulet, a beautiful dish packed full or rich flavour and succulent meat that melted in my mouth. Then came the best bit, our cheese and meat board to finish. We were recommended this by our extremely knowledgeable waitress, we chose 3 items each when we ordered our food from the menu. Our items arrived, beautiful presented on a wooden board, a mixture of the nicest, freshest meats and cheese I had ever tasted, most locally sourced from Yorkshire.
We had 3 courses, and 2 bottles of wine, one white Rioja, and a rose from Provence, which were both beautiful, between 4 of us, the portions were perfect, after we had finished I felt full but not over faced, and extremely satisfied, as the quality of the food and wine were on a par, in not better, than what I had been eating in France. The bill came to just a shade over £26 per head, which for the quality of the food and wine was a bargain, in my tight Yorkshireman opinion.
We will definitely be returning, either to dine in, or pick up a meat and cheese box, that Pave offer as a take out, as I will be dreaming of this meal for a long...
Read moreFor lots of reasons I haven't been to the Alpes in a few years. And I miss it. Lo and behold, here we are in Howarth on a November night, in the most amazing, incredible little French / Swiss Alpine Restaurant. The food is simple, but truly great quality. Charcuterie, Cheese Boards, and wonderful Raclette. The wine list is extensive - virtually everything is available by the glass. We tested a variety of reds, whites and dessert wines - absolutely superb, served just right and priced very sensibly. The service was great. I can see that owners Andrew and Rachael are trying hard with this little place, and there efforts are paying off. I can't remember the last time we ate and drank so well - as I've said so many times, the best restaurants start with the very best produce. Utterly brilliant. We...

We had a cake of cheese supplied by Pave and boy did they deliver.
Myself and my partner are from a combination of the north and south of england so it was important for us to have cheeses that we not only loved but that also represented a bit of us. Pave guided us with their excellent knowledge to help us make the perfect selection.
We went for a Wookey Hole Cave Aged Cheddar, Smoked Red Fox Red Leicester, Yorkshire Blue and Cornish Yarg. All were absolutely delicious.
All of our guests were absolutely blown away and all said it made a nice change from the usual boring sponge cake and too much icing.
If you’re looking for something a little different (and even more reason if you’re a cheese lover!) then this is for you. You will not be...
