Visited The Kings Arms twice on our recent break in Haworth. Cannot speak too highly of this great local pub. Everything about it is first class. The pub layout, the food, the excellent selection of reasonably priced beers, wines and spirits, the friendly locals, brilliant staff, but above all the superb atmosphere created by Caroline, one of the best landladies I have seen in a long time. We enjoyed our time in the Kings so much that it is the sole reason that we are returning to Haworth to celebrate this New Year. Looking forward to some great nights there. To the whole team, just keep doing what you do so well. Thanks for a great visit. Colin & Denise Challinor.

Love this very doggy friendly pub. We visited this fine old pub on a rainy Sunday afternoon and we loved the fact it served food but also welcomed muddy boots and dogs. Every dog gets a Sunday dinner whether their Mam and Dad buy oneor not. It's always a good sign when you see a water bowl out for the dogs. Fine pint of John Smith's. We didn't have a dinner, however, they looked to piled high, topped off with a massive Yorkshire pud. Definitely be calling in here again. With my dog.

A lovely pub providing a most pleasant experience, it was the lady behind the bar who was so jolly and polite that contributed so much towards that. The big plus for me was it sold my beloved John Smith's the only place in Howarth that I could find it. It was popular with people wishing to have lunch, they even cooked something for a dog whilst I was in. The background music added to the enjoyment and I will return

Booked a table for earlier tonight. The staff were helpful when calling in to book the table even providing a wipe clean menu to help pick our choices.Being a plant based eater I pre selected a nut roast and my partner the steak and ale pie. On arrival we were shown through to a beer garden full of smokers and drinkers to a reserved table. As the weather was so hot we chose this pub because it had a beer garden. This was a mistake. The food was very poor. The nut roast was unavailable as it was apparently sold out. We were shown a totally different hand written menu with many crossed out items. I chose a vegetarian cottage pie with chips. This was one of the blandest meals that I have ever eaten. The pie was tasteless. No flavour in the filling at all. The chips were anaemic. The only flavour I experienced was vinegar and ketchup. My poor partner was equally disappointed. Her Steak and ale pie was a small pie like you would buy from a cheap pie shop and not a tray bake slab pie cut into portions as is more normal. I very much doubt it was made on the premises .Inside were 3 gristly lumps of meat 2 of which were totally inedible. The small jug of gravy gravy was ok. She left most of the pie and just ate the chips and gravy. As payment was taken on ordering by another none standard procedure where the waitress offered to just take my card to the card machine and present it. After 4 minutes I was becoming concerned at what was happening to my card when she returned with it saying it has been temperamental and took 3 goes. She gave me a receipt for the £25.70 the meal and drinks cost. This is not a safe process I realised in retrospect as any of the staff could have copied down my card details. I will be cancelling my card. All in all this was a very unsatisfactory experience. We left still hungry and went across the road to the Old White Lion and ate there as...

A lovely few Monday teatime hours spent here: 3 of us with our 3 dogs. Lovely authentic setting just around the corner from the Brontë Parsonage, good beer and good choice of it, a discount for CAMRA members and comfy bucket-seats ... front part of the pub is for dogs ... the stone-floor part, and that's fine. Bowls of water for them and treats in a jar on the bar. Then, for us humans, a smashing, wholesome meal of liver & bacon with gorgeous mash and lashings of onion gravy in HOT bowls, and loads of it ... no nouvelle cuisine here. The staff were just lovely; couldn't have been more receptive and helpful. They do doggy dinners too so our lot were served with bowls of meaty lumps and gravy once we'd eaten. But for me, THE very best thing was the welcome for our dogs. People were what I call "normal" around them, no flapping or squealing, just acceptance of dogs and kindness towards them. That's both the staff and the locals. And the dogs picked up on this, because they know when people are welcoming towards them, and they appreciate it, because they have feelings. I really think Cathy should've fetched Heathcliff in here ... that would've mellowed him up a bit. Thank you, King's Arms....

Having been previously once before, After the experience we just had we won’t ever be returning. The last time we came there was a little wait for food so we expected that but we were told 20 minutes for food.

After sitting for an hour and a half watching everyone else who arrived after us recieve our food and listening to the potty mouth chefs swearing and shouting, When we asked where our food was we were told a couple of minutes I’ll just check again.. To then be told they lost the food ticket so hadn’t even started it. By this point we were completely past it and asked for a refund, Shockingly enough they still charged us for the drinks that we didn’t even drink because we were saving them for when our food arrived.

There wasn’t much of an apology and by this point all the tables around us were adding in their disappointment at the service. Such a shame because it’s a great location and a cosy pub but there’s just no attentiveness from staff. To let a table sit for that length of time without using the initiative to check is poor management and there seemed to be a lot of issues in...
