For years my mother and I have regularly enjoyed lunch here. The food is good, the service excellent and we have a lovely time. Yesterday, however our experience was, to our surprise, the total opposite. My baguette was rubbery and had obviously been microwaved for too long, and my mother only had a couple of mouthfuls of food. Much too late she told me her food had been delivered to her cold and she couldn’t eat it. Nearly 90 years old she was cold and wanted something hot to eat. When I pointed this out the waitress did say she was sorry and someone else offered her hot soup but she is very elderly and just wanted to leave. Their response was very good. However, when I went to pay, the manager (or owner) who is usually very polite and chatty was very rude. She demanded payment from me and practically threw the receipt at me. It costs nothing to smile and feel like you are welcome to this delightful little tea shop.
