I would like to state before i post this review, i am a very fair person. Where do I start.. my partner and I are locals and we were looking forward to trying this tapas bar. It was a Tuesday evening so really quiet, there was literally on one else other than us. The first thing my partner was told as we walked in, was that the kitchen shut at 9pm (we arrived at 8pm but had booked a table) i felt this was quite rude. The young boy working was quite short with us, wasn't particularly welcoming. We ordered sangria, the chorizo with humuus, meatballs, padron peppers and potatoes bravas. The food came out within 5 minutes which was suspicious. The food was average, the meatballs were probably what I liked best. The potatoes were rock hard crispy on outside but with no potato in them. I am positive they were frozen, possibly from Iceland with a bit of paprika sprinkled on them. I actually complained about them and asked that they be taken off the bill as they were not edible. Thankfully, they were removed from our bill, which was probably the only highlight of the evenjng. The young boy who served us, was the same person who greeted us, took plates away without even asking if we had finished. He made us feel almost like we had to rush because he wanted to get home. It was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had, we were really disappointed. We won't be returning. The money we paid for the meal and experience just wasn't feasible and as for the service, if you work in hospitality, which I have done myself, expect late evenings. It is all about friendly customer service. If you don't enjoy this type of work and want to be home early, hospitality...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe food was okay, Iāve grown up in Spain and lived there most my life and 90% of the dishes did not resemble the real thing. One of my dishes stated it had āMigasā something that excited me as itās something I have had through out my childhood and my dish did not come with any sight of migas. I was told that it was in bread crumb form on my dish but I did not get any breadcrumbs, well at least none that were noticeable to me. I paid almost Ā£13 for a dish that ultimately barely touched the sides, paid almost Ā£75 for two people and Iām now currently sat in another restaurant for food. At first me and my mum were quite excited as the patatas fritas or what should have been called patatas bravas were lovely and really tasty, everything after that was a let down. Paid Ā£12 for a salad that I could literally hold in my hand (for reference I have tiny hands). An empanada that mostly resembled a pancake, with next to no filling for almost Ā£12. Was told the chef is Spanish, however I feel as though a real Spanish chef would deliver food that would be to the same standard as back home but I suppose capitalising in another country where most do not know any different is an excellent business strategy. All the best to the staff and chef, but we would...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat has happened to this place? we went in for lunch 2 people. he sat us at the end by the door in between a wall and the stairs, i asked politely if we could move to the empty table behind he said NO because he has to push the tables together later. They line people up in there on tiny tables against a wall feeling like an exam hall and finishing off the very little atmosphere this place has to start with. chairs are bloody uncomfortable and the tiny tables for 2 aren't big enough considering its a tapas. We came here before they changed their menu and their chef and since then the restaurant has gone down and down. Always empty and I'm not surprised the downstairs set up is tiny and being constantly pushed against a wall to save wooden tables for later is ridiculous. We wanted to have a long lunch but we walked out, if a table is booked then fair enough but to say that people have to sit by the door and stairs so cramped to save a wipe down of the table is...
