After being a regular for a very long time I was so disappointed in the service I received today from one of the girls in the cafe. I tried to make a deliveroo order so I called to find out when they will be accepting orders, then when I tried to make an order it said one of the items was out of stock I called to confirm the girl on the phone told me it’s not out of stock must be a mistake on deliveroo and to add another item and call back and she will tell the chef to change it which I did. The girl then called me 5 mins after I placed my order to say it is actually out of stock and she got it wrong which was fine I asked for it to substituted with something else. After this my order was cancelled on deliveroo so I called to ask if it’s been cancelled she said no it’s still going through, I checked deliveroo again and it appeared to be cancelled I was going out soon so wanted to confirm whether I need to order again. When I called again I heard her complaining saying ‘I can’t do this again’ in reference to speaking to me which I found SO rude, she then CONFIRMED it was still going through and they were making it she sounded very annoyed even though this was her mistake in the first place. She reassured me that it was going through and if there’s was any problems with deliveroo she would call me but I will be receiving my order. Luckily I didn’t listen to her and didn’t feel comfortable to make another order after how I was treated. My order never arrived and I was never called to sort this out. Read moreI used to go to this place a lot, but feel like the service has got so poor when the manager isn’t there. When she is, it’s an entirely different experience and I can’t fault her. She’s friendly and clearly good at what she does. Unfortunately on the several occasions I’ve been without her there, service is poor at best. I’ve been debating whether to even review this, but another poor service today and I’m fed up. We ordered to have a delivery today due to us having an 8-day old baby and it being my birthday - our drinks arrived. The food did not. We phoned the restaurant to speak to a guy who was so blasé and unhelpful- he said it’s not their problem, another uber driver took our order, returned it back to them cold and we would have to pay again as it’s not their problem but Ubers. I find this service pathetic. It is surely also the responsibility of the business to ensure the correct delivery is being taken. He offered no solution and was about as useful as a chocolate teapot. Read moreI went here a few weeks ago with my partner and our baby whilst visiting Brentwood, we entered the place hoping it would be a nice family local business and hoping to have nice food. However, sadly one of the worst places we had eaten in our entire life. Food was terrible, we ordered avocado toast with asparagus, spinach and poached eggs and it was absolutely terrible, the egg was hard and the avocado toast was tasteless and dry. On top of that the service none, they saw we couldn't finish the dish and they never asked any question regarding how the food was. Additionally we could hear the chef who seemed to be the owner of the place shouting at her staff from the kitchen making the vibe really awkward. I will definitely never come back unless they change.
