I've tried this café on a couple of occasions now and really don't wish to run down a local business but today whilst visiting to give it one last chance, I was met with an 50 minute wait for food. The waitress did explain that I'd be waiting around 20-30 mins, but 50 mins? The food came up was cold and bland. The waitresses are super friendly and to be fair to them really did their best under difficult circumstances. The food was a real let down. The scrambled egg had clearly been microwaved which is just dreadful and not really acceptable(£8.25 with two slices of toast 😬) The issue being is that clearly Uber eats/deliveroo are prioritised which in turn slows down the kitchen. Perhaps stop taking orders online and serve the people you've waiting in the restaurant itself. Disappointed and dissatisfied. Sorry to say, it's really not worth returning. Much better cafes on the...
Read moreUsually good, today's visit was poor. The components of the cooked breakfast had mostly and quite obviously been kept under hot lights so were dried out and chewy. I don't know WHAT my 'cheese & ham omlette' was in reality, but it was nothing like any omlette' I'd had before...more like fried scrambled egg with some cheap bits of processed ham mixed in just put on the plate like a mishaped pancake. The tea and coffee were fine and served promptly, but long gone before we ate as our accompanying meals weren't brought to our table for probably another 30 minutes or so. I have eaten here many times and have always found it fine. I hope today's experience doesn't reflect the path the place is taking, because if it does I'll start eating elsewhere in Brentwood. I truly hope they...
Read moreWe popped in for a quick breakfast on a wet Sunday morning and were totally charmed by the ladies running and working in this restaurant. We were seated and advised of how the restaurant operated (post COVID) which was great and left me feeling very safe. The service was friendly and efficient, the food delicious and very good value for money. We chose the breakfast muffins and were surprised to discover the price included tea or coffee and 2 hash browns. (For the record, the hash browns were the best I've ever had, mainly because they were cooked to perfection; fluffy inside and light and crispy outside. The restaurant was clean and, if I lived locally, I imagine I would be a frequent visitor. If you're fortunate enough to live nearby, I would thoroughly...
