I’ve been 3 times since it opened. 1st time the food was lovely but service a little slow ( there were only about 10 people in the restaurant) but we put this down to it being new. 2nd time 6 of us for a ladies lunch. Starters lovely but 3 of us had sea bass for main course which was dry and pretty tasteless ( frozen I think ) £23.90 per person ! Very uninspiring and frankly very overpriced. We did however have good service and had a great meal , although I think this was more likely due to the company rather than the meal.
Today I decided to take my husband there and WHAT A HUGE RIP OFF AND DISAPPOINTMENT!! Our starters of meatballs and calamari were lovely. Our waitress very attentive. Main courses we both had the “Tagliatelle con gamberi “ £17.90 each. It came with 2 prawns per portion!! That’s what is in a starter. We queried it with the man who seemed like he was in charge although difficult to tell as he was constantly texting on his phone ! He said we should have had 3 per portion?? I would have assumed maybe 4 but hey ho It was very very average ( tagliatelle in tomato sauce with a couple of cherry tomatoes and about a slice of courgette cut into tiny slivers. I could have cooked this on a mid week evening for about £4 max ! With 2 glasses of white wine and 1 beerthe bill was £99.96 with(13.5% ) added for service! I hope our waitress got her tip at least but after a third time lucky trying to support our high street I’ll go to Felix, Alex, or Smiths and pay the extra £50 as they’re light years apart ! DON’ T WASTE...
Read moreFirst the good points. Charming service, really tried to cheer my boy up. Also really wonderful that they managed to accommodate halal options for our group. The non-alcoholic Amaretto cocktail was amazing, really really moreish! A salad that we ordered that didn't look appetising as it had no rocket lettuce was quickly taken back with no hard feelings. The pizza was delicious! The decor was lovely.
Now why didn't I give 5 stars? I have to say that waiting a little over 2 hours for our main wasn't how we imagined an organised pre ordered group birthday party to be. The food was above average but in our opinion not worth the advertised price. The drinks too, very expensive. Grouping up both orders of olives in a single large portion, and then leaving them on one side of the table, then providing us with foil cartons to separate them into 2 portions ourselves wasn't acceptable service either. The disabled toilets didn't have soap and the gentleman's toilet had a blockage (I should've said something but didn't.) I feel that had we not waited so long my impressions would be different. It was very very full, but then I imagine that a restaurant should be ready for that service. We were under the impression that remunerations would've been suggested, say free drinks or no service charge. This wasn't offered and so we requested not to pay the service charge, which really isn't like us.
Anyway. That's...
Read moreFirst impressions as we were seated was very stylish, then the music was blaring out loud and we couldn’t hear ourselves speak, they managed to turn down eventually. Our starters was very nice, the restaurant then started to get very busy and the service was very rushed.I had ordered the special Crab ravioli and clams and cherry tomatoes, I came up and the whole bowl was full of empty Clam shells and 4 pieces of ravioli floating in a watery fish sauce, I can eat most things but the bowl of shells literally put me off ….I sent it back which I think is the only time I’ve ever done this ever ! I was offered something else but everyone else was half way through there meal. It spoilt our evening completely. The meal came to £185 for 4 starters and 3 main dinners.£28 4 beers !!! I have eatan in many restaurants… I love to eat out, to me this restaurant could be very nice however it would appear it’s popularity is not for the quality of the food. Very over priced £6.50 for small bowl of chips … very...
