We had a table booked for 4 at 9:30pm on Saturday evening (12 January) after previously having a good experience around the same time when we previously visited and spent over £400. This visit though, was very different, as soon as we walked in, we were greeted with "our kitchen is closing in 15 minutes, you have to be quick". Which at first is fine, I am a business owner and understand that to some extent BUT the server came to our table at 9:32pm, said the "kitchen is closed" yet proceeded to take our order.

So I was frustrated, confused, is the kitchen closed? Why are we sat down at our table now? We've been inside for 2 minutes? We have already been made aware about 15 minutes before the kitchen will close but now it's closed? Why is the server still taking our order if the kitchen is closed? If the kitchen is closed and the server is taking my order, does that mean we're going to get our food the next day? Why would you allow bookings at that time if kitchen is 'closed'? To just sell drinks? Set up a bar. An unnecessary comment to make to paying customers, who have just entered the building and are ready to order. The server heard our frustration right away and tried to laugh it off, I wasn't laughing. We've all worked very hard and came to have a pleasant dinner but I personally was absolutely livid.

After the server rushed to take our order and told us the kitchen is closed, when in fact it isn't, then took 10 minutes to even give water, we had to request it again, then another 10 minutes to get our drinks we've ordered (20 minutes from server taking order). During this time, I noticed the original server put his jacket on and leave the premises, that explained his comment to us enough.

Then the food arrived, mediocre, rushed, dry, better off visiting elsewhere rather than having the hassle of coming into the City Centre for an establishment that rushes you but will take their time.

You ask for sauce, you will have to wait ten minutes then ask again, I'm assuming cause it was 9:30+, staff were frustrated/flustered which is understandable to an extent but professionalism was at a NIL for us.

We would like to thank the young chap who did crack a few jokes with us and the the young lady who apologised for the delays.

I will not be visiting again nor will I be recommending this place to anyone I know. If you are going to rush your customers who are already prepared within 2 minutes of entering the building and tell them the 'kitchen is closed' when infact, it isn't. Then don't take the booking.

I've made two bookings in 2 months and have spent £400 first time (5 People), providing a £200 tip because it was a joyful experience for us all and the second time, the bill came to just under £200 (4 people) but just left the service charge.

Because of the shameful service and the poor quality this time round, we didn't wish to spend anymore money nor time at this...

The much talked about Cappadocia, I thought let’s give it a go and I was not disappointed. First impressions, very clean very welcoming and give that full authentic experience, and the smells coming out the kitchen I wanted to try everything in here!

So let’s talk food! Starters we ordered - shakshuka, sucuk, calamari and creamy garlic mushrooms. Started by bringing over traditional Turkish bread, olives and dips as always that little appetiser makes me happy, simple things eh!

The shakshuka had real nice depths of flavour, getting that fresh tomato and aubergine taste well seasoned. The sucuk was grilled to perfection the natural oils coming through, lots of smokey spicy sweet flavours. The calamari came as 4 big rings tasted fresh nice crispy batter as you expect, and creamy garlic mushrooms hit the spot, lots of garlic flavour mushrooms were thinned sliced and cooked perfect. Good size portions on starters, could tried the whole cold and hot meze to be honest!

As mains we ordered - mixed grill for 2, beyti kebab, lahmacun Turkish pizza, chips, rice and salad.

I’ll start with mixed grill, lots of meat well seasoned and marinated with lots of flavour each meat had its own texture and taste! Sometimes these mix grills all kinda taste the same but not this one! Different flavours throughout, juices were running and meats cooked again to perfection!

First time trying a beyti kebab something new for us all, and it was lovely that big yogurt dip with browned butter mix hits lovely! It’s filthy it’s naughty and it’s nice!

And the Turkish pizza thin crispy a nice little edition to the table to share.

Rice was fragrant, cooked correctly perfect company for all those grilled meats!

Chips were standard nothing to shout about could probably be better but we will let that slide as it’s a basic side in a place like this!

Summary - the food we tried was all excellent some good quality flavours and you can tell the owners want to show off authentic Turkish food! The atmosphere the decor and service also follows that high level! It was very busy but also accommodating the waiters were always ready to serve and help. I believe our waiter was called ani? If so he was great!

Overall score is solid 8/10. It’s great restaurant serving high quality food, exceptional meats and meze! If you’re wanting to try something like this, these guys are worth a visit! Pricing is decent too! Certainly not expensive...

I recently visited Cappadocia Restaurant and had a mixed experience, with several highlights as well as some areas needing improvement. Here's a detailed account of my visit:

Upon arrival, we were welcomed with complimentary bread and sauce, a lovely touch that many restaurants no longer offer. This immediately set a positive tone for the evening. For starters, we ordered the hot metal platter for two. This dish was a delight, especially the hummus and sucuk borek, which were exceptional. The flavors were rich and authentic, giving us a taste of Turkey right from the start. However, the calamari was disappointing – it was too hard and dry, lacking the tenderness and juiciness one would expect.

Moving on to the main course, we opted for the family platter for four. This platter was decent, with a good variety of items to sample. The chicken wings stood out as particularly enjoyable, nicely spiced and cooked to perfection. Unfortunately, the chicken shish was a letdown; it was incredibly dry and lacked the moisture and flavor that we had anticipated. Additionally, the jug of water served to our table was lukewarm, necessitating a request for ice to make it more refreshing.

One of the undeniable highlights of our visit was the service. The staff at Cappadocia Restaurant were fantastic – attentive, friendly, and always ready to assist, making us feel very well taken care of throughout the meal. The decor of the restaurant also deserves special mention. The ambiance was wonderful, transporting us straight to Turkey with its authentic and inviting atmosphere.

However, I must note that the pricing is on the higher side for what is offered. When comparing to another local favorite, Lona, it’s evident that you get more for your money at Lona. Nonetheless, Cappadocia shines in terms of flavor, providing a more authentic taste experience. That said, improving the quality of the chicken shish would make the pricing feel more justified.

In summary, Cappadocia Restaurant has a lot going for it – from the fantastic service and beautiful decor to the flavorful dishes. Yet, there are areas that need attention, such as the quality of certain dishes like the calamari and chicken shish, and ensuring that the water served is properly chilled. With these improvements, Cappadocia could truly elevate its dining experience to match the excellent service and ambiance it...

Having heard many good things of Cappadocia Bristol I was glad to have the chance to try it out at the end of a long working day (17th July). I got there at 7pm om a Wednesday and I could hear there were already quite a few customers in the place. The greeting on the door was friendly and, despite not having booked, I was found a table, with the minimum of delay, on the upper level. I took note of the decor which I found I liked. The restaurant continued to get busier while I was there. It took me a several minutes to decide what to have from a decent-sized menu. I began with a starter for which I had the Lamb Paca Soup which was a creamy combination of lamb, spices and garlic which was delicious and went well with the turkish bread (I declined the olives and dips) which had arrived soon after I was seated. The soup had a good meat content and was certainly one of the best soups, if not *the* best, I have ever had in a restaurant. I consumed all of it and enjoyed every mouthful. For a main course I went for the Lamb Beyti Kebab which was lamb wrapped in tortilla roll and cut into 8 pieces, served with a rich tomato sauce and Greek (?) yoghurt. I also had a side of turkish rice. The combination of rice and kebab proved to be one I much enjoyed and I can't complain about either. The rice was done to a Turkish recipe and had a nice flavour to it which, I learnt from the waiter, was down to the use of chicken stock as part of the recipe: the stock used was, as the waiter put it, "made with proper chicken" (ie. not with a stock cube). As with the soup I had consumed earlier I had no problem finishing all of the kebab and the rice. I did contemplate a desert but had no space for one. During the meal I had a couple of beers. The bill, which arrived with a cube of turkish delight (yummy) came to £48 which I paid and added, of my own accord, a tip. The service from the waiter, whise name was Anil, was very good throughout. I left having enjoyed the visit and will look forward to returning when I next get the chance.
