We came here for my partner's birthday, we turned up a little early but were seated straight away with a smile. We were told about the special deals straight away, which is nice because it means saving pennies is not a secret! The food arrived in good time, all together, and when I say I couldn't fault anything I am not exaggerating! I had the sheriff, and added pickles, the burger itself was well seasoned juicy and meaty. Be aware they come medium done, but that's what I like so no arguments here! The onion rings inside was delicious too. The bun was not soggy and held together well too. My partner had another BBQ burger but I'm not sure the name,it came with pulled beef, and I nabbed a bit of his burger to try, it was very meaty and just as delicious as mine. We ordered the halloumi, which was perfectly cooked, a good portion for multiple people and the dressing was spot on, I think my partner would have happily eaten a bowl of it. The kimchi fries, I could have I just had a huge bowl of those, the chips were still crunchy flavours complimented eachother and it was presented very nicely. We also had some jalapeno and blue cheese coleslaw, this I ate by the spoonful too! I finished up with a biscoff shake, which whilst I was very full I had to find room to try, I'm glad I did! The place itself is rustic, fun and clean. It could do with a lick of paint but this can be easily overlooked when there is so much attention to detail on the food and service. I loved all of the writing on the walls of where the ingredients come from and their story too. Overall, I'm trying to find more excuses to come back... Ok I don't need an excuse I'm coming back!

Service was really good with it being busy also. Later in the eve saw lots of customers turned away as they were full so book early. Starters were OK onion rings were huge and had a good taste the Korean chicken was very hot and spicy a lot more than would expect from a one chillies mark on the menu. If you don't like to much heat I would avoid. Blue cow burger was OK good flavours but far to much salt. Salty bacon. Cheese and extra in the burgers. Was OK at time but have found myself drinking lots of water over night as suffering from the salt. The sheriff burger was also very tasty and didn't taste to salty but same effect of to much salt for my partner. We did talk with Sam after the meal and I mentioned this he joked that it encouraged people to have more drinks, may have taken it onboard? Fries were nice chillies fries had a slow roasted sweat flavor meat again with lots of hot raw chillies. Skin ones were also nice garlic dip was very over powering home made but a little to strong I had a small amount on my little finger and could still taste it minutes later. Toilets were very small in men's one cubical and one urinal ladies two cubicles sinks to wash hands were small with a few paper towels. Was more about seating than services. On the night I would have scored 4/5 but following the dehydration from salt they get a 3 still one of the top burger spots in Bristol but be sure to. Check out some of the others.

We visited Burger Theory on a Saturday night. We were 7 people. The staff were extremely kind and served our table with a smile. I can also say we had a nice table with a long sofa. All the food arrived with no mistakes and it tasted amazing. The hairy beast burger was definitely delicious. It’s definitely pricy, so the following things for the price you pay definitely need improvement; - The wings, for almost £7 were the smallest 6 wings I ever had in a restaurant of this type. If they didn’t taste nice I would be sending them back but honestly either put more for the customer, or ask your provider for larger sized wings. -Dirty Fires, A lot of restaurants offer these option now. I definitely had dirtier and nicer fries elsewhere. And again, for £7.50 the fries should have been miles better (see photo attached). -Toilets, honestly the men’s toilets are ready to simply fall on the ground floor. The tiles are completely broken, making you feel the floor is going to drop the second you stand on them. The “walls” were completely destroyed and had a lot of writings on them with markers. This place is a proper restaurant downstairs, I find it a joke that they are okay with the state their restrooms are!

I have had the pleasure of enjoying the fine work of Burger Theory 2 times now! First was on a trip to Bristol with my partner, we heard from friends in Devon that their burgers (served in the Golden Lion at the time) were to die for! The pub was located on Gloucester Road, a fantastically cultured part of the city! My partner went for the Cheese Theory and i decided on the Southern Bird (Southern fried chicken burger)... Wow, quite honestly i was speechless on how theatrical the food looked and the taste was indeed to die for! Little tip, if you get a chance i would highly recommend going for the Dirty Fries too - Fries, Bacon, Cheddar and homemade garlic mayo. We then found out they source ethical ingredients and even make the tomato relish from scratch!!

Secondly was when we were at Secret Garden Party, a festival in the north east of England. It was on the Sunday afternoon, the rain was pouring all weekend and our spirits were feeling low, then to our surprise we saw the Burger Theory sign! We went over to see if it was the same guys from Bristol and it was! This time i decided to go for "The Donn Burger" basically a pizza burger with homemade pizza sauce and mozzarella cheese! To our delightful surprise they managed to keep up the standard whilst working in the middle of a field! It was delicious and hit all the right spots!

I hear now they are set in a new premises in Bristol. If we decide to head to Bristol again we are sure to drop in for a bite to eat!

Thanks guys! Keep up...
