GLUTEN FREE CHICKEN DISHES, PAST AND RISOTTO!
I attended The Cher Show on Tuesday evening. I had messaged in the day, to see if they offered a gluten free option for anything on the menu. I ended up calling and they confirmed; the chicken dishes, pasta and risotto is gluten free.
They managed to book us in within 30-40 mins of our arrival time.
The vibe in the restaurant was great, energetic and friendly. The bar staff were really helpful.
I asked on the food wait time and they asked if we were attending a show, we said yes and they confirmed our food would be out in plenty of time.
We arrived around 6:35-6:40pm. By approx. 6:50-6:55, we had our food. It was incredibly tasty! I wasn’t sure due to the time it took to come out, but it was 2 pizzas and a pasta dish, so the pizza’s wouldn’t have taken long in a pizza oven anyways.
It was authentic Italian, great value for money and the wait staff were efficient and on time with everything.
My only complaint was the time it took to get a reply to my query (3:45pm) and I got a reply at (10:25pm), even though I called in between, that there is no indication of gluten free options online or on their social media and the fact there was no Pepsi max, only Pepsi or Diet Pepsi.
Still, it wasn’t enough to ruin our experience and I will definitely be back when we next see a show next!
They also offer 10% off pasta, pizza and risotto with tickets to certain venues.
Absolutely worth the visit and our new fave place to go when we go to watch a...
Read moreDisappointed overall, basically a 2.5 stars at best. The restaurant was packed and the food appeared decent and sizable.
We started with some garlic toast calamari. The garlic bread is basically a pizza base with a garlic butter over it. The bread was great, but it didn't have a lot of garlic so we ended up having a pizza with nothing on it.....
The Calimari was deep fried, not breaded and came with what appeared to be a mayo dip with a little bit of garlic in it. Not what we expected, but the taste was ok and the squid was well cooked.
Then the three pastas arrived with a salad to share. The salad didn't have any dressing, I believe someone tried to put olive oil on it, but it was for the most part, a blend of a spring mix with a few cucumbers and a couple of cut grape tomatoes on a plate, Nothing special.
The pasta was a surprise given it's an Italian restaurant. The risotto was terrible, overcooked and soggy, with 5 different risottos to choose from I was expecting a lot better. The other two lacked flavor and the sauces were less than what I would consider quality. The chicken was cubed and the other ingredients could barely be seen. Looking at others, it seemed a few people couldn't eat the pasta either. The pizza looked great and those that ordered it seemed to finish it. If I ever go back, I might order a pizza,...
Read moreI ordered the Tagliatelle Frutti Di Mare, and the homemade Tiramisu for dessert. The main dish is a recommend, it's £16 but everything was made almost perfectly. I can't blame them for messing up the mussels because UK mussels are rubbish in general and I don't think they use scottish ones. I love the squid, it's cooked perfectly, the sauce was amazing, the syngery with the cheese and other condiments are amazing aswell. I notice that they use top budget friendly condiments such as the Colavita balsamic vinegar and olive oil (~£7 per bottle). I couldn't rate the service as the owner himself served me, but I assume it will be in a level slightly lower than that for the average customer. The atmosphere is alright, it's not a big place and there is barely any parking space outside (facing right towards a narrow alleyway) the interior is quiet, comfortable and cozy. The hygiene is great, although the toilet (men's) could be improved, but overall, it's clean and simple. The homemade tiramisu is amazing, the aesthetic is on point, the size is great for the price (£6.5) and the taste is fabulous, a well recommended desert as it compliments any type of main dish in the menu. I think most of the staff are italian so it adds the authentic experience (this doesn't really matter for me)....
