Original review: We had an issue with the app delivering 2 single gins instead of a double and the staff were not sympathetic to resolve the issue. Our group were left without a drink.

My reply to response: I felt that the response to my last review was unfair and cannot be left unchallenged when you make false claims about the integrity of our group.

Look at your response to the review... I understand you were probably frustrated - but it stinks of attitude. And it is exactly that attitude I witnessed my friends experience that led to it being left.

First of all, I have only ever left 3 bad reviews in my life. I am also completely empathetic to the plight of the hospitality industry. I was not a participant in the dispute, I was just disappointed at what I witnessed and frustrated on behalf of my friend at the poor service and attitude she recieved through no fault of her own.

You referred to our party as "all very inebriated". This is really annoying, because its completely irrelevant and is purely there to discredit us. The party had been drinking, but everybody was behaving reasonably. Firstly, the girl in question whose drink order was messed up was sober. Also, you're a bar, don't try to shame people for drinking - its not a good look. If our behaviour was consequently out of order, sure, but it wasn't.

So in summary, a girl from our table ordered a premium double gin, she clicked "make it a double", and then your app glitched and made it 2 singles. This was demonstrated to the manager, and it was not her fault.

Anyway, she went to the toilet. Seperately, another group member had ordered a standard gin and tonic. A few drinks were delivered to the table without us being told what they were. This included the 2x single shots of premium gin that my friend had paid £9 for. Because we were not told what the drinks were, and my friend knew she had planned to get a double, he poured some of the tonic water into one of these glasses assuming it was a single gin to accompany his tonic that had arrived.

When my friend got back from the toilet, we were unsure as to why her double gin hadn't arrived. It was only when it was explained that the premium gin had come out as 2 singles that it was realised her drink had been topped up with tonic water by accident.

I get that one of our group mistakenly poured the tonic, but No 1 harbourside didn't tell us what the drinks were when delivered, and also are responsible for the issues on the app.

Think of it from the perspective of my friend, she was the only member of the group who hadn't been drinking so she'd paid £9 for a double gin. Because she went to the toilet and this mistake occured through zero fault of hers, she ended up with a £4.50 single, and a wasted glass because she dislikes tonic water. All she wanted was for the drink she ordered, which your staff have a duty to ensure is reasonably provided. There was no attempt to get free things at all, we wanted the spoiled glass taken away.

That you claim our group was "trying to get free things, and especially when not asking/enquiring nicely & criticising our offering/calling our staff liars." is offensive and was not the case at all. We were excasperated at your attitude.

About the only part of your response to the review that is fair and accurate is "Not much sympathy is shown...

Booked the place for the start of our Stag night in Bristol. Had a great time at MaxEvents, few drinks before going out so everyone was happy and jolly. The evening started off well until food was missed for a few of the guys, at which point the Chef came out who was very rude basically telling us not to touch him and he had got all the orders right. I do find it odd, for a place that serves burgers, fish & chips only until 8pm how it can survive on a Saturday night and not make provision for extra, even if it needed to be defrosted. To make matters worst the waiting staff and the Duty Manager Tom spent most of the evening avoiding our table. The actual manager who was onsite, Hannah again showed no interest considering we spent best part of £500 at the place. The bill was then presented, understandably needed to be split between 20 people. Due to an in experienced Manager Tom and a waitress who basically was left to deal with the bill and a group of men, meant things just did not get sorted properly and I ended up paying the remaining bill. Not ideal, not very well handled, considering the place was not exactly busy. I would not recommend coming to this place, for burgers & chips which at best were even below McDonalds standards and chips that you could probably cook from frozen at home better that the ones served up!!!!!!!!!! If I could give it zero stars I would. Disappointed and...

I should have kept walking. I arrived shortly after it opened and wanted to kill time before harbour festival started so opted for a brunch here. I watched tables that arrived after me get their food and drink first, it took 25min for my coffee to come out, and only after I prompted the lady who brought my food (but no cutlery). The £4.85 coffee was OK, and the view across the water was lovely, but the "Many Benny" Eggs Benedict was the worst Benedict I've ever had. The sausage was so dry that it felt like it had been either been reheated or sat under a heat lamp, the muffins texture felt stale and the hollandaise sauce tasted more like congealed melted butter. Finished with some onion seeds for decor but totally lacked in taste. Definitely not worth the £14 price tag. It's like this place tried to follow the Lounge cafe model in their design, but with a new Lounge opening just 100m further along the harbour I think they'll struggle to compete with their lower prices and consistent quality (I had a look at their menu on my way back and they're £4 cheaper). No.1 Harbourside in Bristol absolutely smashed it out of the park! I came in hungry, left in a state of burger-bliss, and already planning my next trip back. Let’s talk about that beef burger—an absolute beast in the best possible way. Perfectly cooked, juicy, and stacked with all the right stuff. The bun? Toasted just right. The toppings? Balanced like a Michelin-starred tightrope act. Every bite delivered a punch of flavour that made my taste buds sing sea shanties. Easily one of the best burgers in Bristol—no exaggeration. And the service? Spot on. Friendly, fast, and genuinely welcoming without any of that fake “scripted” feel. The team clearly cares and it shows—from helping with drink pairings to checking in with a smile (and not in that “hover over your table” way). Speaking of drinks: the selection is top-tier. Whether you’re after a crisp local cider, a crafty IPA, or something a little more experimental, they’ve got you covered. Big props for supporting local breweries and keeping it fresh on tap. All of this, right by the water, with those relaxed harbourside vibes? Unreal.

Situated in the harbour, it is one of our favourite places to have a coffee or meal while planning our adventures. No.1 Harbourside has a very Bohemian atmosphere with it's little stage at one end and their menu attached to clipboards. Alot of thought has been put into where all their meals ingredients have been sourced. Good food, great price and a clear conscience.
