Very unfriendly staff , visit this bar after my sons graduation last Tue 11,Sept . One of the staff immediately noticed that my son had an unopened packet of crisps and told him not to eat them . The bar was understandably very busy with the new graduates but patiently waited to be served , several people were served out of turn however we patiently waited and eventually we got served some time later, in the mean time my son's hunger over took the "don't eat your own food" rule and he opened the crisps , immediately the staff told him off and he stopped eating the crisp . Absolutely right he shouldn't have eaten the crisps , but I do take exception to the staff being able to spy him eating crisps but cant serve us in turn . Next thing I knew the staff insisted on us moving where we were standing , even though we were not causing any obstruction to them , claiming it was because we were standing beside staff table, ( that hadn't been used the whole time we were in the bar by the way) However we continued to try and enjoy our son's day , not making a fuss even though we knew the staff were being spiteful in moving us . My husband went to buy another £29.00 round of drinks to be told , he wouldn't be served because my son ate (half) the crisps. He asked to speak to the manager , who again refused , I couldn't believe our custom was being refused over a packet of crisps that cost £1 , I also cant believe the staff would go out of there way to be so unfriendly, and unwelcoming which was obviously a celebratory day for us . to be honest if they put the same effort into the customers that were waiting to be served we would have had the 3 packets of crisps that we purchased from the bar and the crisps bought elsewhere wouldn't have been consumed. I do understand the rules are there for a purpose but common sense also needs to prevail ! we may have been there for several rounds of drink , maybe we would have purchased a meal could have spent £200 who knows ? but the staff want to make an issue over crisps ! and put a blemish on our day. Thank goodness the next bar we moved onto restored my faith in Bristol hospitality , as soon as we walked in the bar staff congratulated my son on his graduation when they noticed the badge on his jacket . It costs nothing to be nice , think the 2 girls that day could learn something from...
Read moreHands down the best bottomless brunch I've been to in Bristol - and I've been to many! For £26 per person it was an absolute bargain!! Decent choice of food available from their set menu, my friend and I both had the beef burger, with grilled mushroom, cheese, lettuce and chipotle sauce alongside chips. My friend requested that she would prefer hers with a hot chilli sauce which staff were more than happy to do for her 🙌🏼 The drinks available with the brunch were perfect for us, 2 choices of cocktail (raspberry cooler or ex on the beach) .. both were delicious! You could also choose a pint of lager or thatchers, or gordan gin, London dry, lemon, passionfruit or pink! Service was top notch, not once were we waiting around for staff to come ask what drink we wanted next, many times we hadn't finished our current ones and the staff popped by to see us! Absolutely amazing and they were all so helpful and friendly to! You can upgrade your brunch to include more food & drink options, just to point out though, if one person in your group upgrades - you ALL have to :)
The only slight negative there was and just personal opinion, was the football and rugby was on the screens - which isn't a bad thing but the area we were originally sat was crammed with loud lads enjoying the games (rightfully so) but it was very hard to have a conversation with my friend who was sat next to me over the noise 😂 staff very kindly offered to let us have a table downstairs where it was much quieter & less crowded which was much better for us on this occasion 🙌🏼 We both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will be definitely...
