Estrella de Tapas — Restaurant in Bristol

I booked this restaurant for my mum’s 70th birthday. I haven’t come across any restaurant which declines customer’s request to bring in a cake for birthday celebration. So it didn’t occur to me initially to check with the restaurant before ordering the cake. On the day as soon as the restaurant opened at 5pm, I called to check with them. I was responded by text message that they can’t accommodate the cake as I booked via a discount website. I expressed my disappointment politely. The restaurant owner claimed that he didn’t want to have unhappy customer and therefore he cancelled my booking without my permission. I was astonished! Did he/she ever realise by cancelling the booking just half an hour before a 70th birthday celebration meal due to start cause far more stress and frustration?! I then paused everything I was doing with my mum for the celebration and had to find an alternative restaurant very quickly, then informed my husband the new venue and time since he would go there from work, whilst entertaining my mum and not let her know what had happened and not to worry. You can’t imagine the stress I was under in the short space of 30 minutes. This is not how I imagined a celebration day to be like! The owner came across very dominant and inconsiderate. I saw his/her responses to other people’s 1 star reviews, he’s used very strong words in serious tone! He seems to be a big character! The food might be very good. But to me, dining experience is not only about food but also the customer service. I don’t want to risk visiting the restaurant after experiencing what the owner is like. 4 stars for now. We were busy that time.I just had few spoonfuls of food because this was where we celebrated our beloved daughter's 18th Birthday! (last 09.Feb.2024) It was a surprise party organized by her father and relatives in collaboration with Estrella de Tapas' staff.

The place was very cozy. (I especially love the furniture. so comfortable) I'd like to think that they have complete kitchenware. The staff were very friendly & accomodating. The management made ways to grant every request we had. They provided every cutlery, food and cake stand, table cloth, and many more. They have a lot of insights and helped us with decorations despite of serving other customers/locals.(We started prepations a little early during their opening hours. They closed a part of the Restaurant, a mini Function Hall were we decorated. The area was wide enough for the celebrant to dance with her father and everyone.)

Without their constant support, our celebration won't be a success. P.S. Try their cocktails! i wish I spent time sitting at that Bar enjoying refreshments. We were busy with the program.😅

I recently dined at The estrella de tapas, and I must say, it was an amazing experience. From the moment I walked in, the staff was welcoming and attentive, making me feel right at home.

The decor of the restaurant is modern and chic, with plenty of natural light streaming in during the day. The seating arrangements are comfortable, and the ambiance is perfect for both intimate dinners and group gatherings.

Now, onto the food. The estrella de tapas's menu features an impressive selection of dishes, ranging from classic comfort food to gourmet entrees. I opted for the parillada de Carne, and it was cooked to perfection - moist, flavorful, and seasoned just right. The side dishes were equally impressive, and the portion sizes were generous.

The service was exceptional. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive throughout the meal, and the food was served promptly. The manager even came over to our table to check on us and make sure everything was to our liking.

Overall, I highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. The food, service, and atmosphere are all top-notch, and I look forward to...
