The Annexe Inn — Restaurant in Bristol

Whilst moving to Bristol I bemoaned the death of the 'local' . . . until someone very politely pointed me to the Annexe. It's a 'blokes' pub . . . not to say that you don't get a good number of ladies in . . . but two of, shall we say upwardly-mobile local ladies, have said to me oh I've never been in there, not my sort of place. Ah well, their loss. Fabulous quality food at a great price . . . best value pound for pound sunday lunch in Bristol. One word of warning . . . if you want the pork . . .yum . . . get in early. Would prefer if the guest beers featured porter/stout more often but I understand the beuiness rationale behind this. I find it interesting that Doombar . . . which is brilliantly kept here - as are all the others - is now seen as ubiquitous and therefore to be derided (see reviews on other sites). Me? It's not often I get a guest that beats it . . .still I aint no connisseur . . . All in all great place to watch your footie and enjoy a good crowd . . .as long as that Swansea supporting bloke aint in . . .noisy, annoying git he is (he might have died during The Lions finale...

Have been a few times now for Sunday lunch and all I can say is WOW 😀 What a bargain for less than a tenner. Beautiful flavour meat, great roast potatoes and loads of veg. They don't allow under 18s in the main bar area, but only tell you this after you've been to the bar twice to order drinks and then your food. After they've taken your money you are relegated to the ice cold conservatory out the back.
