I used to like this place however after last time I will never be drinking here again. Appalling staff. I was out for a friends birthfay we had just been for a meal across the road and thought this would be a great stop, there was quite a few of us so we’re all having a giggle and we ordered one shot. The staff then decided that we were not allowed to have any more shots after we erupted into laughter over a silly joke, that’s fine, if you don’t want loud people having fun in your pub, I can understand that’s off putting for some people. What really got to me was the “manager” then going and telling other customers that we were disgusting. I don’t care what you say to your staff about your punters you to not go around bad mouthing people to other customers especially telling people that we are disgusting simply from laughing and joking around. For shame. Your so called manager has the worst customer service I have ever come across. Good luck...

We managed to get a last minute booking for the Sunday roast, so we were immediatley pleased to get a seat at the table. This was our first experience here but it absolutely won't be the last.

Between us we had the chicken roast, the beef, the squash & lentil roast, and they very kindly accomodated a bespoke veggie roast composed of all the sides.

Everything was cooked beautifully with excellent seasoning throughout (the beef brisket was my favourite - tender and packed with flavour). We also enjoyed tryng to identify the extremely delicious puree, which was a joy to eat. Pudding were equally refined, sticky date caramel pudding and teh rhubarb crumble being top picks. Generous portions, outstanding service, beutiful decor.

Highly reccomended, can't wait to return and try the regular menu next time...

Usually the Galli is our go to day bar, however this has now changed. My childhood friends came to visit Bristol for the first time. Ordered our drinks, and they got garnished with a slice of orange -no mention on the menu. Unfortunately my friend is allergic to orange. I'd already paid. So mentioned this to staff and asked if there was anyway we could have another one without orange in. I was horrified to be told no. Obviously no-ones fault this happened, but I felt absolutely mortified staff point blank refused. Staff continued to say no they can't make another unless we bought more drinks. I've never had this terrible customer service. Staff continued to gossip about the situation, really unprofessional, very shocked and...

The food is amazing, creative, quality updates on some classic menu options. We visited on a busy Saturday for lunch, service was quick and it was the best fish finger sandwich and omelette I’ve ever had. The drink choice is vast! So many niche spirits, local beers and ciders to choose and all very reasonably priced. There is an outside terrace on the front to enjoy the buzz of Gloucester Road, this is set back though so you’re not on the busy road. This was a long awaited first visit that didn’t disappoint and we’re looking forward to visiting again. A rare lunch minus child, but worth noting it’s family friendly. Lots of tables and dining spaces. The live music lineup looks fab too.

Absolutely fantastic roast! I don't go out for roasts very often but very glad we went here, the roast beef was amazing and as well as the roast beef joint there is brisket on the plate which was fantastic. The selection of beers, drinks and cocktails was great. They were very busy so although the food took a little while to come out it arrived hot and tasty so no worries at all. I also had the arancini as a side which was absolutely brilliant, the flavour was incredible! Will definitely be back as it's a great place to take friends who are visiting even just to have a drink and hang out.

Great events, music is always groovy! First time having the Sunday roast today; a HEARTY portion. Expensive but delivers. Slow roasted Lamb was excellent. Gravy, full of oomph. Staff were lovely. My company thought the service was slow which was probably why the vegetables (red cabbage, two carrots and three peas) and potatoes weren’t singing songs of flavour. The potatoes lacked the fluffiness I’m after in the perfect ‘Tater. A cauliflower cheese is our litmus test for a good roast and so far, the best we’ve had in Bristol. Would go again
