What a corker of a pub. Great selection of beers and ciders of cask and keg. Amazing little vibe going with nice tables and chairs. Beautiful little dog serving behind the bar and friendly staff. Also an amazing selection of pickled eggs that my company enjoyed.

Friendly back street boozer on the edge of town. Sells a wide range of local beers. Beers are often 'specialist' so it's not the cheapest place. Close to Old Market so well placed for exploring some of the best pubs and breweries in Bristol.

Welcoming pub with friendly landlord who made us feel welcome. 6 real ales on when we visited.

My 30yr old daughter (who has lived in Bristol since 2012) went there for a drink with her friend on Friday 21July and had a very unpleasant time. They were the only women in the pub and chose to sit outside. They received a lot of grief from a group of older guys ‘that were just being friendly’ and made it completely uncomfortable for them with lots of unwanted attention and creepy comments. They were as it turned out a passing group of men that left before them thankfully but it seems that the bar staff were not attentive to what was going on. If you have an outside space on offer it needs to be monitored regularly. I’m completely disgusted by men behaving like this, and very disappointed that nobody spotted this and intervened. Please consider this for your future practice as women should expect to...

Food wise i can only comment on the Sunday roast potatoes which i believe to be cooked from frozen, but with a bit of gravy and no extra charge; it's a 5/5 from me.

Service is second to none, with Elmer himself often manning the pumps; which consist of a wide range of tasty beers from local breweries, and at a reasonable price (often less than a fiver). Patron the dog sometimes makes an appearance, although she is only there to serve up cuddles and good doggo.

The atmosphere is always brilliant; the hum of customers all chatting in and around their friends, to the bar staff and to each other. All friendly and all good energy. This is exentuated by a rock, funk & soul music background, often spun up on the decks at just the right volume to enjoy it alongside all other aspects of the...

Popped in here to catch up with a few old mates. First impression was the relaxed ambience as I walked in. As an ex-publican you get a feel for when something is being done right. Great pint of Timothy Taylor was going down a treat. Sunday afternoons have a DJ playing a top eclectic range of tunes including a Japanese version of Rawhide. The complimentary roasties with gravy [ use the tongs! ] were crispy and fluffy and very moreish. All in all I couldn't have enjoyed an afternoon catching up more. Elmer the landlord is doing...
