Tortilla Bristol (Cabot Circus) — Restaurant in Bristol

I love Tortillo. It's my now go to place for fast but very delicious and healthy food. Why did I only discover this chain a few months ago?! 😅 Anyway, the Bristol chain, is no exception. Well, actually it is in the way that my experience today was uniquely exceptional, thanks for a member of staff there called Lipoma. The service is usually excellent anyway here, but today Lipoma went the extra mile and came over to me very sweetly when I was eating in there and asked if everything was to my satisfaction and if she could get me anything else. I thanked her and said I didn't want anything else, thinking that she meant a sauce or something. She then offered me some tortilla chips on the house!! Wow. When does this ever happen in a restaurant nowaways in city centres?! I obviously took Limpoma up on her offer. to the owner. staff is not helpful. ignoring deliveroo drivers standing waiting patiently, 3 staff working and they decide to wrap more burritos while the order im there to pick up sits in the fridge for 5 minutes. they told me that i am not standing in the right area, when actually i was standing out of the way of the customer line. im sure your customers who order food do not appreciate it getting cold while i wait for it as they wrap more burritos and im standing there. if you have 10 orders in the fridge already, you should probably help the person in the shop before you start making more. im clearly a delivery driver waiting for food, and if for some reason they think im a customer they should ask if i need help.

Sad to be leaving such a low review as these are the best burritos I've had in Britain... But this evening as I was getting my burrito toppings, a lady who appeared to be a manger, interrupted the man serving me to inform us both that it would cost extra for slaw. I told her that I'd been here many times before and that this was the first time I'd been told slaw was extra (only guac was ever an extra cost before). She rudely told me that it (me not paying extra for slaw) won't be happening anymore in the future. I replied that I thought this was too bad, to which she again rudely replied that these were the rules. I asked her where it said this (the signs only say extra for guac) and she said it's in her training manual and that's all I needed to know!

It was not a pleasant experience at all and unfortunately I will need to find another joint in town that makes authentic...
