I’m feeling very let down by my most recent experience with the Wagamamas Clifton branch. I ordered online through Deliveroo and realised a split second after submitting the order that the main meal I had selected hadn’t been included, i.e. I had accidentally only ordered a starter. I called the restaurant immediately to amend the order or cancel and reorder but the staff said that I had to do this through Deliveroo. Fine. Except When I contact Deliveroo and they call the restaurant for me (only a few minutes later after I had done and to request the exact same thing), they say they can not amend the order because the kitchen had already started preparing it. Also I could not cancel the order altogether for the same reason. This was quite clearly a lie because the Deliveroo driver turned up at Wagamamas 30 minutes later (all available to see on the Deliveroo tracker) and was kept waiting for a further 25 mins before our food was ready. In the end my order was 20 minutes late. Now, I’m pretty sure duck gyozas don’t take 55 minutes to cook! When I’ve eaten in the restaurant before starters/side plates usually come out within 5 minutes of ordering..
I understand that I made a mistake not selecting the main meal choice but I called to amend this within a few minutes of ordering and the fact they wouldn’t amend it meant I then had to pay an additional delivery charge to order another delivery to go with my starter (obviously I did this with another restaurant).!
Overall pretty appalled by the customer service received, I don’t appreciate being lied to as the food preparation was quite obviously not even started yet so the order could have been cancelled (I would’ve happily cancelled completely and reordered again correctly but wasn’t even afforded that opportunity!)
I definitely won’t be ordering from here again and judging from the Deliveroo boycott I suspect you have left many other customers with a bad taste in...
Read moreOur first time to Clifton Wagamama, but with others already under our belts, we we super excited to be eating at this unit. Plus, it was my birthday, a cake was promised after my birthday badge was spotted, but never arrived 😢 Anyway, I digress. The greeting was really good. Warm, friendly, and kind. Lunch was just getting under way, a few families and couples already eating. The smells of yummyness already wafting through the air. Our eating space was shown to us, and we excitedly looked through the menu. It wasn't long before drinks and food order were taken care of, and the feasting would be soon here. Yasai vegetable gyoza, Kimchi and Bang bang cauliflower to start. All great, really good, the cauliflower especially. My kare burosu tofu ramen arriving with speed, and my daughters Vegatsu not long after. The ramen was hot, tasty, and eaten with gusto. Just as good as I have had at other units. Phebe loved her Katsu, too much rice for her, but she was saving room for pudding!!! She said the sauce was really good. Now. I have a firm favourite, and a reason I go back time and time again to Wagamama. The Katsu banana with miso ice cream is a thing of dreams to me. We ordered one and the new toffee apple bao bun. Sadly, and it was sad, the ice cream was not the normal miso that I have come to love, and instead, a coconut one was subbed. Not what I expected nor wanted, especially as I am not a great fan of coconut. I asked our waiter and it was shrugged off as 'maybe it's just the wrong ice cream' A minor issue, but none the less, no acknowledgement of the error was made. Of course, we will go back to Wagamama. Just say next time you don't have the right...
Read moreLeaving bad reviews is really not something I do but this can be valuable information for others. I appreciate that the occasion has very little to do with the restaurant itself but this might deter others to end up with a HUGE disappointment. Ordered a couple of side dishes, a kids katsu chicken and two ramen soup for a midweek birthday celebration The food arrived fairly soon (well within the advertised 60 min) and the starters were OK. Nothing amazing but absolutely fine. The kids katsu was a bit of nothing (fried chicken obviously were no longer crispy but the 5 years old was happy to eat it and didn't complain) the two ramen on the otherhand was an absolute disaster. Rather than sending the broth separately the chef decided that its a good idea to send the cooked noodles in hot broth to a 20plus min journey. Guess what arrived? A mash noodle with some overcooked veg. Absolutely awful. All landed in the bin, truly ruined the birthday. I had wagamama via deliveroo before and although its not at all that great (nothing else we're open to order from and the birthday boy wanted japanese food) this was a whole new level. Usually eat everything (honestly I don't want to complain ever if I can avoid it) but this was inedible. I would not recommend anyone to order takeaway from standard restaurants, they can't cater for this market. Well this will be definitely not something we...
