Not the best place for coffee & cake. It was our first (and last) visit. We ordered 2 regular lattes & 1 slice of carrot cake and 1 slice of red velvet cake. We asked how much it was for a slice of cake (no price for any of the desserts were displayed) he said £40 for the whole cake... I reiterated, A Slice...£4.25 ....(asked if we wanted cream but we didn't on this occasion, not sure if extra coat for this or not) I went to get a table while my fiance waited on our order, he was given a number & a tray & asked to wait at the end of the counter. I struggled to initially find a table as it was busy, though it did start emptying a few minutes later. I tried to get a staff members attention to clear the table (I would have done it no problem but nowhere to put them) it didn't happen so I switched to the next available table. We waited approx 10 minutes for two warm coffees & then eventually the cake. The cake was okay but overly sweet for me to the point I couldn't taste any other flavours in the cake. I couldn't finish it because it was just like eating...

The food quality was hit and miss. The Breakfast Brioche for example was amazing. The egg yolk was runny, the bacon was crisp, the sausage was just the right amount of sweet and the brioche roll was like a toasted pillow. But then on the flip side, the frosted cinnamon bun was stale with the consistency of drywall.
The service was polite and friendly but very slow. As someone with a lot of customer facing experience, I'd never expect people to work at 100%, 100% of the time but not a single person was in a rush with any aspect. It was slightly bizarre.
The pricing was, I'd say very fair. My order of a Milky Bar Frappe, Breakfast Brioche and Cinnamon Bun came to around £15, which isn't bad. Average one might say.
I don't think it's a place I will ever go out of my way to visit, but I would be comforted seeing one in an unfamiliar town as a safe bet...for...

However... the panini I had was dry on the edges probably because they are all made up for the day and are sat in a cooled area until needed. The rocket was all shrivelled on it too after being heated up.
The feta salad side to the panini was also made up for the whole day and had some cross contamination of a different cheese in there (grated cheddar?) So I questioned the cleanliness of tools used and decided not to eat any of it.
The forks provided were also dirty and I needed to ask for someone to clear the table of previous customers after 15 minutes which happened but they didn't return to wipe the table clean.
I could have complained or highlighted these facts but to be honest... I'm a shy person and just couldn't do it. Simple as.
It's not somewhere I would return to eat but gave it a 2 stars merely on the fact that staff were so nice, the music is fun and the coffee and milkshakes...
