We visited yesterday (16/11/2024) as a party of 10 to celebrate a 60th birthday party. The restaurant itself was relatively small but every table was full of happy customers. Atmosphere was very traditional of a Thai restaurant and made the atmosphere feel more authentic. The ladies who served us were polite, friendly and simply couldn't do enough for us. We had the Thai Smile starter sharer for 3 people, this came with wings, satay chicken, prawn tempura, prawn toast, spring rolls and 3 dipping sauces. It was absolutely delicious. All cooked perfectly and piping hot. Prawn crackers to accompany with a sweet chilli sauce also delicious. For a main I opted for a red Thai curry with jasmine rice and it was so moreish I took my leftovers home because I wasn't prepared to waste any. We brought a birthday cake with us which they kept discreet until it was ready to be brought out and they all joined in when singing happy birthday. I would 100% return here, atmosphere was lovely, service was quick, food was delicious and hot and there were so many things to choose from on the menu but not so much that you're overwhelmed. English food options available for children too. Totally recommend and thank you for making the birthday celebrations so special guys! Sorry about the lack of photos but we were enjoying ourselves too much to be...
Read moreFirst time visiting Thai Smile Restaurant after hearing good reviews and also seeing a few posts on instergram. The place that really doesn't disappoint!!! 🤤🤤🤤..
We tried the Satay chicken to start and also the dim sum, both were rely nice an fresh, the peanut sauce was rely nice!! 👌 for main, we tried the duck soup and also the chicken soup noodle bowls 🍜 .
Both were very distinctive and very different in their own way!! The chicken soup was a very delicate light broth, with softly pouched chicken coriander and spring onions. The duck, on the other hand, had a deeply complex flavour with some succulent pieces of duck, with morish crispy skin and loads soba style noodles . 😋
Least to say we finished the lot! An were completely stuffed. 😋🤤🥢...
Would recommend possibly booking a table in advance. Luckily, we called in early on the off chance and were able to be seated as no sooner as we settled in, the place filled up.!!
Least say we will definitely be revisiting place again and certainly recommend to friends and...
Read moreNew to the area looking for a Thai takeaway (my favourite). Saw the good reviews at Thai Smile. Got the mixed starter, chicken massaman and chicken pad Thai. The food was nice but at £53 for a takeaway I expected something excellent, which it wasn't. The curry comes with jasmine rice. I asked to pay more for coconut rice. I was charged full price for the coconut rice, which is fine, but then I wasn't given the jasmine rice that already came with meal which didn't make any sense as all I had done is add a portion of rice. It didn't help the portions of everything I ordered were small. I've been going to Baan Phad Thai in Stockport until moving here. £39 for the same order, bigger portions, better quality with lots of added vedge and much better value. Despite the food being nice, overall I was disappointed with my takeaway...
