Went for Dinner with my Wife and Son. My Son has an airborne peanut allergy. 1st of all, when we got seated it was the 1st question we got asked (good form), 2nd when we explained his peanut allergy (we don’t go with any expectation of how they should react or even if they will ask, we are prepared and have necessary precautions at all times), the Manager took time to explain, Nando’s sell a nut mixture at the order point and he will now ensure this is removed and for our visit, nobody will be able to purchase them as his allergy is airborne. My Wife then checked and the menu says it is a nut mixture not including peanuts so, I explained to the manager it is ONLY peanuts therefore, if the nut mixture doesn’t contain peanuts please do carry on selling them. The Manager very kindly said, I would rather we were over cautious and you were satisfied we had done all we can to accommodate you for your visit. (What a brilliantly professional response). I then went to order food, the Manager came over and said he would take my order, ensuring the allergy was taken into account against what we had ordered, he would personal oversee the order being made and also, it would come with Blue allergy flags to ensure no cross contamination could occur. To reiterate, we often get asked if we have any allergies as I’m sure most do, the response to my Sons peanut allergy is usually, check the menu and make sure your happy. This was well above and beyond anything we have ever experienced and Nando’s (if they actively push this) can be very proud their Manager/Employee did their company proud. The food came quick, blue flags included, we all enjoyed and despite feeling a little bad people couldn’t buy their nut mixture…. We left immensely impressed with how Nando’s handled us as a family with a very common allergy. My only last advice? If Nando’s offer this level of care (the best by a mile we have ever had), it would be great to see them have Kit-medical on their sites. I am actively trying to get them into my workplace. Thank you Nando’s Bury, I am only sorry I didn’t get the Managers name. Potentially it was Lee? I could be wrong. Either way, my wife and I left here feeling very accommodated and also felt like Nando’s (or their manager), set the bar....

The current system they have in place to limit the number of people in the restaurant doesn’t seem to be the best. Surely, just allowing bookings and turning up on the allotted time is much easier than large groups of people trying to scan a code and waiting outside the doors to get in.
When we got in the building we were seated and told how to order through mobile with the distancing rules. This way didn’t allow us to use a gift card but we were just told to go up and order as normal instead so this was no big problem.
We ordered one zero sugar coke and normal coke. When the waitress brought them over and we asked which was which, she didn’t say anything and just walked away, leaving us to taste test and guess ourselves.
Where I was seated, I was facing the kitchen and could see what was being put out ready to be served. There was a grilled chicken burger there when we were seated and half an hour later, they served me that same chicken burger. Needless to say, the chicken was literally cold by that point. I don’t understand why the chef ever thought it would be okay to serve a meal that had been left out for 30 minutes before the other main was ready but I guess he just doesn’t care.
After complaining the staff were quick to bring out another but it just shouldn’t have happened in the...
Read moreIt was my first visit to the Bury Nandos since lockdown. OK they have the Covid safe measures however they do not work. The entrance/exit is the only way in/out and is being blocked by the queueing system. No social distancing as there is a person to your left waiting for their table indoors and then on the right for collection orders. I was a collection order and when I got there I stood outside mask on waiting. I waiting as instructed by the order for someone to check to see how could they help. Instead nobody did, and I had to pop in to let the team know. There was only one hand sanitiser station but it was not clear and could be easily missed on entry because of the lack of room and other people stood inside next to each other. Peolle where getting up from their tables walking around with no masks on. The order was late. My complaint mainly is for the lack of organisation at the front of house. The kitchen did fine, orders came out cooked and to the usual standard. However front of house staff where all over the place and left collection orders waiting because they where just not up to speed. Sorry. Maybe you can use this to improve your services and relook at your Covid...
