Harry Haw's — Restaurant in Bute

Visited this restaurant with my family including my 4yr old granddaughter on 15th June. Our table was booked for 6pm, admittedly we were 10mins late. On arrival we were told they would need table back by 7.30, Something I think we should have been told at time of booking. We quickly ordered our meals and drinks. Our meals did not arrive until 6.55!!!! At 7.25 while my granddaughter and myself were still eating, the waitress appears at our table with our bill saying we would have to leave at 7.30. Wr asked if we could have a little extra time and were told no!!!! 30 minutes to eat your meal, really!!!!! In their favour what we had was lovely, however, sadly I can't say the same about their customer service. No way to treat visitors to the island. We won't be back, and if you want a relaxing meal out then I suggest this is not the place for you In response to the owners comment, we were not told of table back times until arrival at restaurant. They state a 2hr limit, we were given 1.5 hours. I admitted we were late, given there times our meal still took 25 mins to reach the table, leaving us 35 mins to eat our meals and pay...

Had visited on many occasions previously and enjoyed it each time. The photos and reviews online still reflect the decent menu, dark decor and good reviews of the food. Turned up last night and it has had a total overhaul for the worse. I know that everyone has to adapt to current circumstances, however this does not excuse the awful menu and poor quality food. Its now just a glorified 3-in-1chippy with seats. A laminated menu of cheap fried processed food has replaced the freshly cooked fare that gave it such strong reviews previously. No glasses, no ice, just pick your cans out of the fridge... Rothesay has not got too many evening dining options, it seems they now...

This could be a great eatery. Location, decor, self advertising are all good. But the food is essentially fast food flung together. The grumpy young servers disdain for customers is barely veiled and their attitude is disinterested. Unfortunately this translates to the food. Curry made with frozen veg, homemade pizza dry at edges with not enough topping, lack of fresh vegetables, limp salad with no dressing, cheap ingredients, overuse of carbohydrates.
