Had some lovely food tonight at the Cardiff Bay Wagamama. We were a party of 6 and it was a little get together for one of my Son’s Birthday’s, my other Son unfortunately had a call out for work while waiting for all of us to arrive so we couldn’t order straight away, we spoke to the gentleman serving us and he assured us it wouldn’t be a problem, we didn’t realise until later on we were served by the manager who’s name was Curtis, i felt he really did go above and beyond, letting one of us ring my Son while taking our orders and waiting for my Son to get back before bringing out all of or food, he even remembered to bring him his drink while still serving other customers in between, i expected to have a long wait for food but he was really on the ball with the service and all of our mains came out together. I just felt like nothing was too much trouble tonight and it made our evening even more enjoyable. I’m guilty of never leaving a review for anywhere i go but all six of us commented on the amazing service we had tonight. I was sad to find out he had left before we paid but we left a £20 tip in the box which i hope he gets a share of. Also wanted to mention how lovely the food was. Read moreVisited here today and we were met by Curtis the restaurant manager. No hello, no welcome to Wagamamas, just looked at us. He could not have been less welcoming if he tried. The restaurant was empty with literally 3 or 4 tables seated with families. We asked for a table of 4 and this seemed like an effort for him to to complete, a child could of managed to seat us from the vast amount of empty tables as I have never seen this restaurant so quiet. After we were seated, we were sat waiting to order whilst we watched Curtis strool around the restaurant like he was Mr Wagamama. Me and the family decided to leave, we collected our belongings and left. No attempt was made to ask why we were leaving, just a few sympathetic glances from the serving staff who could probably guess Curtis had worked his magic again. We decided to travel to Wagamamas at friars walk Newport where the customer service and restaurant vibe here is excellent! Read moreWow. This is my first time visit to wagamamas and wow. Firstly, the food was amazing. I can't find any fault in the food one bit. I have autism and social anxiety and found our server over the top and caused me quite a bit of anxiety. The people I was with said they were very good. Very knowledgeable, very attentive. Couldn't do enough for them. I can't judge them on my issues the people who I was with couldn't fault them. There was one problem with my food, it took longer to arrive than everyone else's. Someone came over apologised, explained why and said they were taking my food off the bill. I understand that things sometimes go wrong, but I judge companies on how they deal with these issues. I couldn't fault them. I didn't expect to have my food taken off the bill, but was a very nice touch. From my experiences with this restaurant I am now a super fan.
