Soul Brew at Jeremy's on Sunday 11th Jan 2024......My first time at the northern soul run by the Soul Brew team. I'd heard several reports about this regular monthly event and a pretty mixed bag so thought it's time I try it for myself. Why oh why didn't I go sooner ?? The whole place was buzzing when I arrived, packed to the gills & a big crowd of folk filled the dancefloor strutting their stuff as only a soulie πŸ₯« can. Lots of friends both old & new, brilliant music, a really happy, feel good evening and I even got my No 1 track played (The Bottle Gil Scott Heron ) so cheers Stuart !! Overall marks out of 10? A pretty easy 15 I πŸ€” think. Thank you guys for a really good soul session, KTF β˜† β˜† β˜† Back again last night πŸŒ™ This event gets better every time if that's possible!!! Really classic tracks, Motown, Stax etc etc, I even spotted a new friend from the Hifi in Leeds the minute I got close to my group of friends 🧑 The best part of all ? Because I'm a bit of a chatter box as well as the folk I grew up with in The Vic Lounge back in the 70s, underage naturally πŸ˜† but who wasn't back then !!! There lots of new folk I've now met in local clubs that I can also call friends & guess where a lot of us are getting together this Friday?? You'll have to wait & see but I'll give a bit of a hint.... It's a pub in Shelf that's having an opening night & my old buddySmokin Joe's from Halifax Free Soul is the DJ so it'll be πŸ‘ xx Think it's fair to say that we slightly rocked the house on Sunday night & anyone who's not given this excellent Northern venue a try well you need your bumps felt πŸ˜€ πŸ‘πŸΌ or in more modern language your head tested , cheers to the wonderful DJs who make this possible & their amazing music xx Awesome, brilliant & pretty amazing Northern gig. Why so many local soulers don't go I'm not sure but they're certainly missing a treat πŸ˜… Perhaps I should be better at keeping secrets but words spreading about the quality of the music and all their regulars. Seriously Keeping the Faith Due to a mix up the date this month was changed but I went to the Thursday session instead πŸ™ƒ WOW!! Not everyone who usually goes but a lot of friends and a gorgeous wedding had had their reception there. Nothing nicer than seeing a new bride and groom, looking really pleased with themselves but just a little bit coy about their new status !! πŸ™Œ We had a quick word as they were leaving as she looked beautiful so I said just that. Stunning long dark hair and beautiful dress, not much different to my Mum and Dad NOT that I was there at the time but I have seen the pictures πŸ“Έ πŸ–Ό !! Another excellent set from the lads behind the decks & friends from allover so well worth a visit, there was even a bit of space on the dancefloor but I didn't take any pictures because with Smartphones and folk Bluetooth'ing everywhere they often turn out as nothing but blurs and nobody wants a pic of my feet I promise πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜€ 😜 Second Sunday of the month. Any chance I'd be back at Jeremy's?? Too right βœ…οΈ πŸ‘ πŸ‘Œ Sending very best wishes to Stuart Eastwood for a speedy recovery πŸ™ I think I'm safe to say that comes from all your mates here and many more throughout the UK πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ Filling the gap and doing an amazing job were Joe Burnside, Halifax Free Soul and Mark Rice from Halifax Soul Club and both lads really know their Northern so 2 excellent DJ sets and a very full dancefloor with a sit down outside because of the hot weather, great for holidays but not the best at a Northern!! Awesome πŸ‘Œ night with brilliant people πŸ˜€ πŸ‘πŸΌ Yet another top notch Northern at Jeremy's and again sadly with 2 of our regular DJs unavailable we'd got some really good stand ins who played extremely good sets yet another wonderful night at Jeremy's. It's getting busier every month so top marks to all the bar staff who keep things moving even when in this hot weather we've run out ice occasionally but anyone with a Northern background knows about heating up on dancefloors ! Thankfully the dress code is far less rigid than it was in the early days so some gorgeous πŸ‘— 😍

The best pub I’ve ever been! We were there last Wednesday to only have a drink... we ended up having a few and having tea as well!!! Extremely lovely and attentive staff, specially the (I think) manager of the pub. The food was really good and we had a deal! (2 selected mains for Β£12). We had the burgers and they were really well cooked. The manager knew Spain and talked to us about it. Very good experience, we will definitely come back! Thanks, gracias!!!!

Really nice spot , came to watch a band here nice venue would come again for drinks but not to see a band, we got there really early all tables were reserved , we ended up right at the back and there were some really high tables in front of us , it would of made a lot more sense to have high tables set back so everyone could enjoy the band , still had a good night and it is a nice place 😊 We didn't eat so cant comment on the food x

Jeremy’s is a lovely place to go and eat on an evening with the family and the staff are all lovely , unfortunately last night I went to a birthday meal there and things just didn’t go to plan , which I appreciate sometimes can happen when catering for a large group of people , we were due to be seated at seven and our orders had been placed three weeks prior to us arriving last night , we were waiting an hour for food to start coming to the table and some of the food was lovely but other dishes were very cold and the chilli was inedible , some people had finished eating as other people’s dishes were only just leaving the kitchen, more staff were definitely needed to cater for the amount of people, only three members of staff is not correct for so many , seen as they had another large party in the venue also , it’s such a shame, so we wouldn’t use Jeremy’s for a large party but would go back in a smaller group as we have done before and on these occasions have received good food and great service, and I have to say the staff were all lovely just not enough of them so they were doing the best with a bad...

we had arranged to go to Jeremy’s for a tapas for my friends bday.

We ordered two dishes each and some hand cut chips and French fries in between. The waitress did come to order our food fine and explained that the garlic mushrooms was not available that evening. So I ordered the chorizo.

When all the food came, the French fries looked and tasted so undercooked- so I asked to sort this out please. The hand cut chunky ones were so much better. I got one of my dishes- baked feta with olives and waited for the chorizo. Minutes later I said- β€œwhere’s my chorizo?” She said I’ll find out- and came back saying β€œoh there’s none left” - I piped up and said you are telling me this now when all the foods arrived??? Not really acceptable when 20-30 mins later after we had ordered.

Don’t expect anything special with the tapas, it was dry, more bread than food and I had my olives In a really tiny bowl, some chips, one onion ring- going Dutch and spent Β£12.50 that I won’t get back.

I’ve been for drinks before and it’s a nice atmosphere, just don’t bother with the tapas and...
