Having been to Nxt Level a couple of years ago and had a great time decided that we would go for food and games. First thing that noticed was how many arcade games have been taken out. I asked at the bar and said happened to create more dining space. Didn't expect that almost half of the machines that are then were not working. The one pinball machine that there was wouldn't load the ball. Asked at bar and was told be like that for a bit. He turned it on and off but didn't solve problem. Ordered drinks - Asahi at £6 pint is going rate for premium beer. As there was no red wine my partner had a Prosecco which at £9 for single serve bottle is very expensive. Our food came - Doom burger and Bulgogi burger. Looked ok on plate but whilst tasty, was served on bread buns that were very cold like they had just come out of fridge. We eat out regularly and have never had this. At £14.95 each expected standard. Biting through cold to enjoy fillings does not work at all it also cools other food too. Mentioned this to server and said that he would feedback. In short, poor experience and sadly not likely to return.

The hot wing challenge was ridiculous. They insisted the chips be eaten also, even though that's not part of an original hot wing challenge and it wasn't specified ANYWHERE until we'd finished, you don't even get the meal for free, just a free drink that's less than half the price. The service was TERRIBLE, barely being checked on and had to get up repeatedly after waiting forever for service. The food was okay, the descriptions in the menus differed from the actual food delivered as it didn't say it included jalapenos and chillis in the dirty fries, but they were there and a shock to the person eating as she is not spice tolerant. It's also not clear when you play games, how long, the charge, etc. And when asked we were just told to sit and eat first and they'd tell us later, they never did. Wouldn't recommend. Staff were quite rude and dismissive and seemed to have no interest in their customers.

Seven fabulous gaming nerds descended on Next Level for food and gaming shenanigans …free parking on a weekend Dean Clough is stunning worth a walk around !!! …plenty of space so zero life points lost! Atmosphere on point , staff super friendly and approachable…food put it this way the life bar will be sustained for quite some time …burgers super tasty …Mac and cheese heavenly …two words for you - loaded fries!!!! Couple of rounds of guitar hero followed by some pinball and classic Star Wars shoot em up ( inadvertently chinned an ewok on account of the meat sweats my bad 🤭) if in Halifax most definitely worth a visit … we will without hesitation be returning oh and can I just add extra bonus points for the considerate addition in the ladies toilets..Next Level it is 👾🎮

One of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. I don’t believe that the bar knows how to run, and the restaurant definitely doesn’t.

Arriving at 11:45am on Thursday, with 4 people (one elderly) to an almost empty restaurant and were told that all the tables were booked and we’d have to sit on a high table, fair enough, we didn’t have a reservation and believing the tables are booked is normal so we accepted it and sat on our high chairs and abnormally thin table.

Food ordered at around 12:20pm, a pint of post mix Diet Pepsi costing £4 and a hot dog for £15 is pretty wild in my opinion, but we moved on. Also there was no lunch menu in sight. We noticed we were the second food ordered in the queue (seemingly of the day) and waited for our food - a couple of hot dogs, some fries and some chicken bites coming to about £45 without any drinks. Not great pricing, but maybe the food is great?

It’s pretty standard, diner fast food, US style so was expecting some decently quick service and some decent food. Unfortunately neither of which happened, 35-40 minutes pass and our food arrives at the same time as the table who ordered 10 minutes before us, and the table who ordered 10 minutes after us. Really strange.

The staff member apologised for the wait as the kitchen was hectic, which was a real shock for a 40% full restaurant at this point with only 3 food orders. But the thing is, the food had been dying on the pass. Sat under a heat lamp for 10-20 minutes it seems. Everything arrived cold, and just sad. The table before us had ordered a regular pizza and a small pizza and also had this ridiculous wait (which they actually questioned at the bar).

A long time for expensive food, poor service and just a strange vibe. Then the food was just poor. Incredibly disappointing, some due to the temperature of it being sat waiting for a long time, some just because everything was so bland. Seemingly house fries just mean the plainest fries with no seasoning, same for the chilli and the chicken was clearly frozen pieces way over cooked to be so dry and almost inedible. This is more expensive than going to a decent restaurant in Halifax, more expensive than True North, more expensive than Riccis and seemingly just uncared for.

So we finished what we could eat, and headed out. To top it all off, in our whole 90 minute experience, all the tables we were told were booked didn’t get filled at all. As empty as when we entered.

Maybe it’s time for Next Level to call it a day? They don’t seem to care. The kitchen don’t care. The staff look incredibly unhappy to be there. If you’re looking for an alternative to a play gym, with slightly lower quality food, for 5 times the price, this might just be your place. If they can’t handle running a restaurant, then don’t, but don’t operate and just insult customers with your...

2nd visit and oh my days shocking is not the word. Arrived after pre booking a child's birthday party. We had pre ordered food at the request of the restaurant, was told burgers don't come with chips so we ordered chips for everyone. This is where it goes wrong. We had not even got our coats off and they were bringing the food out why? Burgers come and they included chips so we paid for extra chips for everyone for no reason. Next thing was you can not have a birthday cake with candles inside really what are they thinking they said it sets off the fire alarm.

Most of the machines are in poor condition bits falling off or controllers not working correct. Health and safety is a joke. Staff member went into a boiler room and left a step ladder (wooden) un attended with young children about.

Food albeit cold was tasty so that's a plus.

Felt ripped off as its not the cheapest especially buying extra chips for everyone.

They hurried everyone because they wanted the table disgraceful customer service.

Got bill and it only included drinks no food, I should have left but pointed out the mistake to the unhelpful staff saving the resteraunt loosing over £100.

Will not visit again, not until they get the games fixed and the attitude of the staff rectified.

Well just been again to give them a second chance and wish i did not, nothing has changed all the games are broken again what a joke of a place. Booked the day before for the next day got to the place and guess what no booking had been done seriously words cannot say how bad the service is. Waited for ages for the food i was just going to pay for drinks and leave. If you want to be disappointed then this is the place to go. Just avoid this place it could be amazing but the service stinks. Fix the games its the whole...

Booked a party for 11 people which for some reason came with its own parameters. Were told that despite being a bigger party than the one already booked, tables would have to be moved to accomodate and not be given the large table. We were also asked to prebook our food.

When we got there, we were seated right by the door. depsite knowing we have a newborn. Before we had even down, exchanged greetings or got a drink, food started coming out! I asked if they could wait, but apprently not!

Asked then to accomodate lighting and bringing a birthday cake out for my 8 year old. Told we would have to do this outside, due to the sprinklers. 1 small candle setting off an entire buildings sprinler system..ok then...

Constantly being informed that they need the table, and that we only have a 2 hour slot! I didnt see a party of more than 6 people arrive during our stay.

When all the food had been eaten, despite them needing the table urgently, i still had to chase for the bill. when i evetually got the bill, it was only for the drinks we had ordered. I coukd have quite easily paid for only this and not the actual £147 food bill. Because im not a theif, i corrected thier mistake and paid for the bill in full.

While the food was nice ( but questioned its fresh ness as it came out before we even sat down!) the planning, layout, staff and experience made this birthday meal feel as though we had a quick stop at mcdonalds.

Wont be returning and would advise other with large parties to avoid at all costs. It feels like the only reason they toolkour booking was so that they coukd squeeze us into a 2 hour slot and grab our money.

avoid at all costs with large families.

oh , and half of the...
